Follow the white rabbit, face the Matrix

A journey into self-discovery and truth

24 JULY 2024,

The more we think about it, the more we become convinced that Alice did not choose to follow the white rabbit in Lewis Carroll's classic, Alice’s adventures in Wonderland. The white rabbit allowed itself to be chosen. He seduced the curious Alice, checking the time. It was not the fact that he was speaking loudly and alone, shouting, nor that he was wearing a vest or elegant gloves, what powerfully caught the attention of the girl who was bored of “…having nothing to do”, it was the seductive indifference with which he showed himself. The most interesting thing is what he shouts: “Oh dear! Oh dear! I shall be too late!”. Ask, answer, affirm and reaffirm. Time flies, we often say. Time is money, we also acknowledge that. The white rabbit knows this, and so he runs and jumps into its burrow.

Thirteen dragons in the city of London

The story of the UK capital

24 NOVEMBER 2023,

The City of London wakes up and they are already in place. Located at ten entrances to the enclave, the dragons flank more than just its limits, they indicate the direction of the geographical influence of the decisions made there, a particular compass rose. Each dragon, always standing, always alert, ironically holds in its claws the shield with the city's banner: the red cross on a white background of Saint George or the official flag of England, with the red sword of Saint Paul on the back, up to the left corner, always pointing to the sky.

Händel's Messiah at Christmas

Christmas is for many, the noblest time of the year

24 DECEMBER 2021,

The magnificent oratorio that we all know and many enjoy at Christmas is probably one of the most performed; therefore, one of the most listened-to musical works in history. His author like all the popular geniuses knew how to adapt part of his work to the demands of the public without losing his identity along the way. Discovering what the world wants or better yet needs is an art that does not always accompany the artists.

Charles Dickens’s Christmas Carol

Tells us the necessity of Universal Health Care

24 DECEMBER 2022,

The achievement of Universal Coverage in Health Care represents the best of humanity. Thanks to its creation, the solidarity of a few countries, replaced the dependence on charity suffered by a large part of the population to access medical and social services. Access to health care is a human right, not some sort of philanthropy.

The climatic emergency, the future of the planet and survival as a business

24 FEBRUARY 2020,

For human beings, the years pass like the petals of a flower fall: it seems as though they fall more quickly when the end is near. Death will reach us all, without a doubt. For some people, knowing “the moment” is a privilege, and for others to have it surprise us in our sleep is the best option. In the end, who really knows how much time we have left in this world?

Beyond the Headless Horseman: a deep dive into Sleepy Hollow's origins

24 OCTOBER 2025,

I still remember the path that took us away from the highway and closer to the Hudson River waterfront in upstate New York on October 5th, 2020. My family and I participated in the bicentennial celebrations of the publication of Washington Irving's book, "The Sketchbook of Geoffrey Crayon, Gent," in 1819-1920. This book includes famous stories like Rip van Winkle, and my favorite: The Headless Horseman, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. A tale that has captivated me since I was a child. Along with my siblings, I enjoyed it in movies and on television, from Disney's charming 1949 version, The Adventures of Ichabod, to the famous fifth episode of the first season of Scooby-Doo in 1976.
