An American Soldier
This is a genuine World War II photograph taken in April 1945 by a U.S. Army Signal Corps photographer.
It shows an American soldier carrying a liberated concentration-camp prisoner, most likely from one of the camps in Germany that U.S. forces freed in the final weeks of the war (commonly associated with Dachau, Buchenwald, or one of their satellite camps).
