Stocking

Just finished the stocking I've been stitching for a friend for her newest grandchild.

Sorry for the wrinkles, but it's just out of the hoop. It's a cute design, but it has French knots in the middle of nowhere, so I have long lengths of floss across the back. Why do designers do that?

Now to work on a couple of things for a baby shower in a couple of weeks - if the baby is on time!

Catching Up

Well, I'm sitting in Jasper, Alberta and I have to check out in about 1/2 hour so I thought I better do a post while I have an internet connection. I'm on the train from this afternoon until Saturday morning when I arrive in Toronto.

This is the Skeena River valley just east of Terrace - a major river in Northern BC.

Further east - Bulkley area. I was trying to catch the start of the fall colours, but they didn't turn out quite as planned. The train just wouldn't slow down for some reason! LOL

It was a beautiful sunny day until we hit Jasper Park, then it clouded over and we weren't able to see the tops of the mountains.

When I got to my hotel in Jasper there was a mix up with my reservation and I ended up being upgraded to a suite rather than a standard room. I've felt very spoiled!

I'm loving the train travel - so far I've met people from Australia, The Netherlands and England. All the chit chat back and forth really makes the time fly and I love hearing their reactions to Canada.

And I've been able to get in some stitching. Here is where the stocking has gotten to.

Will try and post again the next time I have an internet connection.

Another IHSW Done

It was a pretty good stitching weekend, although it got interrupted by cooking so I could have some quick grab things in the fridge.

A Good Stitchy Weekend

Well, the stitch-a-thon went very well and I got in some good hours.

This is what the stocking looks like now.

I'm pleased with the progress.

World Cross Stitch Day

That is today apparently, and one of my Facebook groups is having a Stitch-A-Thon this weekend, so I hope to get some more done on my Stack of Critters Stocking.

This is where I finished at my last stitching session - no new stitches in yet today.

 

We'll see how far I get by the end of the Stitch-A-Thon.

Stocking Progress

I've managed some good stitching time on the stocking - this is what it looks like today.

I'm at the point where I'm transitioning between the 2 pages of the pattern. I'll be glad to be fully on the second page - for some reason the 2 repeat rows are causing me problems on this one!

IHSW For July Is Done

Well, it's been a good stitching weekend. Managed to get some stitches in both my projects, in spite of having to work on Saturday.
