Where do you get your fashion inspiration from? I get mine from other bloggers, brand lookbooks, movies, etc.

Last year, I laced up my sneakers around my ankle rather than your typical bunny ears tie.

I thought it was pretty cool and as you can see from my Instagram, still do it to this day. Lace-up anything is incredibly trendy now so I fit right in :)

I got my inspiration from the movie Only You featuring Marisa Tomei and Robert Downey Jr. It's an older movie from 1994 and if you're a hopeless romantic as I am, you'll love it just as much as I do. God knows how many times I've seen it and can probably recite the entire film out to you.

Thinking back on the film, I realize that not only are the way she tied her sneakers in the film trendy, but other outfits as well are pretty relevant today.

You know when I discover something amazing jewelry-related I HAVE to share.

You know me...I'm the "wedding ring and GTFO" kinda gal. The simpler, the better. It's not that I don't love jewelry, I just don't always find something that floats my boat, or ices my cake, or tru---you get it. But then, I found it. The jewelry company that would change the way I accessorize. Original jewelry of UNOde50 has the type of stuff that makes me want to add a little something here and there every single day. And I know a lot of women and men are sensitive to cheaper jewelry so I was really happy to see that these styles are of great quality silver plated, gold plated, some even use authentic Swarovski. I was especially taken with their Valentine's Day collection (Heartcrush), a mix of leather and brushed silver pieces all incorporated into arrows and hearts. The type of thing you can see Shakira wearing, or someone edgy that likes suede and leather like Luanna from the ever so cool blog Le Happy (see below inspiration). Although they don't make especially dainty items, you can kind of see their more delicate pieces as being quite substantial. When I'm shopping online, the rule is this: for every 3 pieces of jewelry I get myself, I have to get 1 for my husband. I mean it's only fair right? It's actually not a problem because their men's jewelry is SO nice, and SO manly. But how can you go wrong with handmade pieces, #amirite? The feeling of letting go of mass-produced items that your friend and her mother own is extremely liberating.

I'm now obsessed with pairing all my leather jackets and fringe suede vests with this massive silver jewelry. They go so well together that I just have to wear a plain white tee, some jeans and whatever shoes I wanna wear. I usually switch up my black leather combat boots for stiletto's or a chunky sandal if we're going out later that day. Drinks, anyone?

I've said it and I'm sorry but yes...it's that time again...Back to School. eek!

My school days are long gone but I remember those days like they were yesterday. Put away your frayed denim skirts because it's all about the "clean jean" skirt. But wait for it...with buttons!

Button down skirts are the hottest rage. Length don't matter and neither does fabric but it's got to have buttons going down the front center. Denim and suede however are the most popular choice. Aside from Fashion Week, we seed a great deal of style and beauty inspiration from Festival Season. Coachella, Governers Ball, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Warped Tour, and Osheaga to just name a few.

It's hot, you'll be dancing, which will result in limp, smelly, sweaty hair. Big faux pas unless you're the actual performer who's getting paid millions to which at that point..no f**ks given. But you're not a performer (and if you are and reading this...thumbs up to me!) therefore you need a no fuss hairdo that's stylish but also hassle free.

In come the double French braids. Funky, trendy, cool, and you will avoid looking like a wet dog. Score!

 

The Coachella countdown is on. I will not be there but will be living the dream vicariously through my Instagram feed of the lucky cats who are attending. I digress!
