Happy New Year!!!
Up for sale is this amazingly clean, true survivor 1991 Suzuki GSX-R 1100. This bike has only 13900 original miles. This bike is 95% stock and all-original as delivered from the factory. Items not stock are: exhaust, air filters, and windshield.
MECHANICAL – The bike cranks instantly, runs, idles, and throttles crisply and cleanly just as it did when sold new in 1991. Charging system is perfectly functional. No leaks of any sort. No smoke. Transmission shifts smooth and with precision. Clutch action is smooth and has no “grabbiness”. Chain and sprockets are clean and in excellent condition. Engine is smooth and quiet. Oil cooler is not damaged, and its cooling fins are clean and straight. Fork seals are leak free. Suspension action is firm and smooth. Throttle snaps back cleanly.
In preparation for this sale, the carburetors were cleaned, performed an oil and filter change, and installed 2 new Dunlop tires that currently have less than 50 miles.
COSMETICS – Bodywork is original with no cracks or abrasion. Paint is in excellent condition. Windscreen is scratch and abrasion free. Fuel tank interior and exterior is in excellent shape without dings or dents. This bike has been indoor stored its entire life so there is no rust, corrosion, discoloration, fading, or degradation of rubber, plastics, powder coating or anodizing. All silver anodizing on this bike is bright. There is one key for the switch and locks. Exhaust is in excellent shape without scratches. All lighting, switching and electrical works perfectly.
The 1991 GSX-R 1100 sport bike is a definitive landmark collector machine from the 90’s and a must-have for any true collector. These bikes were light, powerful, and handled with remarkable stability. An absolute weapon for it’s day that was available for public road use.

RSBFS
Though it is fun to look back at past posts and read the prose, it is really fun to see how the prices have changed. I found a RSBFS post from 2013 by Jared that has a ’91 GSXR1100 with similar miles listed for $6,500, and that was considered high. “Always good to see a clean GSX-R1100 up for grabs and to see a bike of this age cared for. These may not be seen as major collector’s pieces like the first-gen gixxer is quickly becoming, but as those become unobtanium, these will follow. Check the market for second-gen M3’s or late 60’s Stratocasters and you can see what will happen. These weren’t as sought after as their older counterparts back in the day, but they are now. Having said that, the asking price of $6,500 is on the high side of where we have seen these models go. But I bet in a couple of years that might seem like a bargain.”
Good luck to the buyer and seller!
