Show us Your Wedding Reception & Honeymoon

I'm joining up with everyone over at Kelly's Korner again. I love these. Today is Show us Your Life" Wedding Reception and Honeymoon.

We had our wedding reception at Ryan's parents house. They have a gorgeous backyard so it worked out great.
Peacock feathers were my inspiration for the decor.

Three out of 6 of my bridesmaids dressed were not delivered in time. Eeek. So I rushed to find something that would work. Everything in brown satin (which was the original plan) wasn't close enough or looked off. So I decided to mix it up with a gold/champagne fabric, and had them walk down every-other color. I guess it all worked out in the end.

Flowers are such a big piece of a wedding budget so I decided to cut that way down. The only flowers I used were white roses for my bouquet, white callas for my bridesmaids, and white petals everywhere.

I knew I wouldn't keep a guest book around, and I wanted to do something a little different. I decided to use gold paint pins so guests could sign wine bottles that we would open each anniversary.

We stayed at Sandals, Montego Bay Jamaica. It was a blast.
Our room was on the bottom...

After dinner one night we came back to a romantic little surprise in our room.

River rafting...

Rope swinging...
This was pretty much the start to every day, and sometimes the end.
Jamaican night out!

Jumping off the 40ft cliffs at Ricks Cafe in Negril.

Ya mon! =)

Show us Your Wedding Dress

I'm joining the " dress party" over at Kelly's Korner. We are showing off our wedding dresses, and since it was my FAVORITE part of my wedding (except the groom of course) you can count me IN! What is it about a wedding dress that makes everything in your wedding just feel right? I wish I could wear it again and again, but that would be weird- Riiiight? ok, yeah.
Here is my dresses story:
I had narrowed my dress choice down to 2 (at two different bridal salons). So I took my mom to show her the final choices. After the try on, while walking out of the store, a dress caught my eye and it stopped me in my tracks. WAIT! I haven't seen THIS one before. So I tried it on, and my mom and I both knew it was "the one". =) I wanted strapless, and this dress obviously isn't but it knew better than I did. It called to me. The dress is by La Sposa-Pronovias. Model name "Scala" in ivory. So without further adou:

"Big ba-dunk-a-dunks" (above) come from eating too much cake (below).

My friend Casey and I got married right around the same time and bought our dresses at the same shop. Here we are at one of our fittings:

The model in "antique" color, which is what I originally tried on:

Head on over to Kelly's Korner to show us YOUR wedding dress, or to check out other peoples.

Happy Birthday to my Dad

My Dad and I, well over 20 years ago. I love this picture. Its pretty blury since I had to take a picture of a picture. =) Just me and my dad, fishing. Way before he made me start to touch the fish, and then I was OUT!
Such an awesome moment, for my dad to walk me down the aisle. One of the best feelings I've ever had.
Proud and as happy as could be dancing with my dad on my wedding day.

Happy 55th Birthday Dad. I Love you.
