~Sunflowers Swinging in the Breeze and Simple & Sweet Fridays #76~

Stan and the kids had made a swing for the garden.
I wanted to paint it a color so you could see it up on the hill.
I love the duck egg color and thought it would be a perfect shade.
Stan hung it next to our distressed window.
I placed some flowers on the rope.
Very Romantic!
I picked some fresh sunflowers and displayed them on the swing.
Love the etched glass bottle.
After playing in the garden, I wanted to try and make this
 Fresh Cherry Tart recipe.
Just make a pastry shell and bake,
then place your cherries on top.
Mix together heavy cream, confectioner sugar and vanilla.
Drizzle the sweetened cream over the cherries.
I got the recipe from my new Potager cooking book.
Very French and so good!

Happy Thursday everyone!

~Lavender Containers & Flowers and Simple & Sweet Fridays~

I love lavender.
I found this glass at Anthropologie and had to get it,
just to put my lavender in it.
Speaking of Anthropologie.
I found this little Eiffel Tower plate there.
You could use it for jewelry but, I put it in the bathroom with lavender buds on it.
There's nothing prettier than fresh flowers displayed together.
I just went into the garden and picked everything I could see at the time.
Tea Rose, roses, hellabores, larkspur, lavender, westeria,
breath of heaven, and statice.
It was a fun day playing in the garden...

~Bistro De Paris Plates~

I loved these Paris plates I saw at Sur La Table
and I had to have them.
The red and white checkered design
and the script was just perfect.
I love how it looks with the fall decorations up.
I felt as though I was at an European restaurant.
There's always so many choices in the stores for fall table settings.
But I do like the casual look of a burlap centerpiece.
You can never go wrong with crystal glasses.

Glass makes your table shine and the colors of your tablescape reflect that.
The colors of fall are so pretty.
The deep purples and greens.
The Johnson Bros. tureen gives it that simple classic look. It brings back so many wonderful memories of the family dinners when I was little.
The Holidays Will Be Fun...
Always on the hunt for wonderful pieces to add to the table.
Maybe some Thanksgiving dishes this year.

~Vintage Halloween Bottles~

I saw some vintage Halloween bottles at a gift store but they were pricey.
So, I went to Michaels Craft Store
 and bought some
in different shapes for $1.00 each.
Next I found some vintage images on
Karen has a great selection of all kinds of different images. You will love her site.
I used Mod Podge to glue the
 images onto the bottles.
Next I used Martha Stewart glue
and glitter to outline the image.

I love this Bat Woman I found
on Graphics Fairy.
I wrapped the image around the sides of the bottle
 which made her 3-dimensional.
Hope you have fun with the project!
