~Baking Pretty Madeleines & Homemade Burlap Bulbs and Simple & Sweet Fridays #160~

I always love baking during Easter.
Madeleines are so pretty and just the perfect small dessert.
Even the mini madeleines are a bite of Heaven!
I just bought some new copper measuring cups, love them!
When you take the madeleines out of the oven and line them all up,
they make such a pretty photo!!
With fresh small roses make a beautiful centerpiece.

I have been wanting to make burlap bulbs.
I kept thinking about making them for a Spring vignette.
I took different colored burlap, pine cones and jute.
I used some fabric stiffening spray to hold them together.
I cut out pieces of linen and sewed them,
to make them look like a leaf coming out.
Painted them with watercolors.
Painted some dark brown around the bottom.
I glued string to make it look like roots.
You can really see the roots when you place it in a glass jar.
It was a fun project and makes a flower vignette outside.
No water needed too!!
I also wanted to make some popovers
using fresh thyme from the garden.
I found a Martha Stewart recipe for Gruyere Thyme Popovers.
Loved using fresh thyme.
They were Delicious!
I made a special birthday card for a friend
and wrapped the present with some fresh flowers.
A special touch with something from the garden.
I wanted to share with you the birds in our garden today.
New mama dove in our Stag Horn Fern.
A new mother hummer on the grape lights
 and of course,
our chickens finding new spots in the garden.
An Easter bunny playing in the garden.
Always love seeing her.
Such a nice surprise.

Can't wait to see what everyone has been working on!!

~Create, Cook and Garden and Simple & Sweet Fridays #155~

I love creating new projects.
We saw this idea using scrapbook paper to make a lampshade.
All you need is a wine glass, scissors, double sided tape,
scrapbook paper, template and LED tea light.
We found the idea from Good Housekeeping.
I have lots of craft paper and found
this romantic paper for the project.
You can make a romantic setting,
just by using paper and a wine glass.
I had some pretty rose scrapbook paper.
Another idea for a charming tablescape.
Carly made some rosemary focaccia last night
from a recipe she found online.
It was a delicious!
Stan and I just got back from a road trip in the Pacific Northwest.
We found lots of wonderful shops in
Aberdeen, Quinault, Seabrook, Lake Townsend, Whidbey Island, Mt. Vernon and Seattle.
I'll share photos of the trip next week.
Can't wait to go back,
it was just BEAUTIFUL!!
I wanted to share photos of our garden this week.
