Beautiful Disaster

Sure that the post-apocalyptic science fiction film Oblivion isn't the best of the genre, but there are some really beautiful views of destroyed Americans icons: the Empire State Building, the Pentagon, the Superdome, the Washington obelisk with the Capitol in the back and last not least New York as a landscape.

Nice Knife

Stryker (1983) directed by  Cirio H. Santiago is another nice example of the trashy wave of post-apocalyptic movies in the 1980s. But I like the knife, nice detail.

A Boy and His Dog

The film A Boy and His Dog (1975) is based on a science fiction novel by Harlan Ellison. In a post apocalyptic world a boy communicates telepathically with his dog as they scavenge for food and sex. This dog was probably the pattern for many other post apocalyptic companions to follow.

Post-Apocalyptic Novel

Two covers of the novel "Vault of the Ages" (1952) by Poul Anderson,

500 years in the future after a nuclear holocaust, there is Carl, a young man the son of the Chief of the Dalesmen, a community of peaceful farmers. This community is threatened by the Lann, a tribe of warriors from the north who are fleeing their increasingly cold homeland. On their way they are conquering and subjugating all other communities. Looking for help, Carl enters the ruins of one of America's ancient cities, which are inhabited by ragtag groups of people whom everybody calls witchmen or worse.
All in all a good old post-apocalyptic action novel, where people has fallen back on a kind of sword and sorcery.

Beyoncé: Run The World

I never was a great fan of BeyoncĂ©. Now she made this video "Run the World Girls", where all this high-heeled chicks are claiming their rights in a a post-apocalyptic world. Kind of ridiculous, already years ago Julie Strain was way better than this shit. Moreover I don’t understand why Julie Strain don’t ask for copyright.
