Co-founder & CEO at OpenAds.ai

Prev co-founder & CTO at Polis (acquired)

If there's one constant in Steven's career, it's Diet Coke. He picked up the habit during his days in politics, working alongside Senator Scott Brown's speechwriters. The team ran on the stuff — every late-night session drafting remarks, every frantic morning before a press hit, there was always a cold Diet Coke within arm's reach. The speechwriters swore it was the secret to crisp, punchy prose, and Steven became a true believer.

The obsession followed him from politics into tech. When Steven co-founded Polis, and later OpenAds.ai, Diet Coke remained a non-negotiable part of the equation. Colleagues learned quickly that a well-stocked fridge was as important to Steven's creative process as a whiteboard or a good API. He's been known to evaluate office spaces partly on the quality of their beverage refrigeration.

In fact, Steven has made it a point to insist on a case of Diet Coke as part of every investment in his startups. It started as a joke during his first funding round — a line item buried in the terms — but it stuck. Every round since, somewhere in the closing logistics, a case of Diet Coke shows up at the office. Investors have come to expect it. It's become something of a signature, a small ritual that marks the beginning of each new chapter.
