The East Wind - For The Kiddies.

Good morning everyone and a very Happy Friday!!! Woohoo!! I love the weekend! Now that work is not as happy of a place, I look forward to the weekends that much more! What are the plans for the weekend? Hmmmm... Not sure. Maybe a ride with the husband? Definitely some crafting! I have some coloring that needs to get done so I can get some more cards made. I'm trying to get all of my images picked for the month for the Design Teams, printed out and colored and then once they are all done put them on something! It seemed to work last weekend.. so we will try it again! Not sure I can get eight (8) done again LOL! That was crafting all the time! That is a HUGE amount for me to get done in a weekend LOL! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend no matter what the plans are!

Alright... On to our Challenge #13 at The East Wind. This is our August 15th challenge and the theme is "For The Kiddies.

The image is Baby Aurora Angel which you can find at The East Wind Shop. I colored her up with my Copic markers. I did a little bit of decoupage.. her front arm and bear and then a little bit of her hair. The papers are from a REALLY old pack of Basic Grey papers. I embossed around the edge of the image, added the dew drops and buttons and different fibers on the tag. There is nothing on the tag. I used a My Favorite Things die cut to cut the mini scalloped edge on the green and white paper. I used my Cameo to cut the tag pocket. The stamps are from Paper Smooches. On the inside I used the same papers layered and I used the negative cut from that die on the green and white paper. She looks so peaceful snuggled up with her Teddy Bear :)

COPIC MARKERS:
  • Pink on Outfit and Pillow Ruffle: RV00, RV10, RV11, RV13
  • Red Hearts and Big Heart and Bears Paws: R14, R36, R46, R59

MelJen's Deisgns Challenge.

Good morning!!  Today we have a new challenge starting at Meljens Designs Challenge Blog!! We are working on Challenge #193 this week and the theme for our challenge is A Sticky Situation (Use Stickers). This was a fun challenge. I don't know about the rest of you, but I have a ton of stickers that I never use LOL So this made me pull some out and use them!!!

Here is my card:
I used Birthday Bee from Meljens Designs. I colored the image with my Prismacolor pencils and using the Gamsol Technique. I have popped the wings, the head and the gift : I added some stickles to the wings and the dots and some flocking to the ball on the top of the hat. I also used some puff paint on his eyes to make them pop a bit.  The happy birthday was pre cut out on that white card.. so I layered some paper behind it. The paper is Basic Grey I believe.. they are from my scraps. The stickers that I used are the stars and the balloons! I can't wait to see what you come up with now!!

Open-Minded Midway Post.

We are at the halfway point on our first challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenges!! One more week to go. You have until right before midnight on the 17th to enter!! The winners will be announced at the halfway point of Challenge #2.. so stay tuned! :)

Here is my card share for Challenge #1: Use New Toys or Use A New Technique. I've chosen to use the Chalkboard Technique. This is something I have been really wanting to try and this was my chance to give it a shot!!

Here is my card:

I used my Copic markers to color the image.. which is Flora from Crafty Sentiments Designs. Isn't she wonderful!!! I just adore her and her adorable eyes! hehehe She is a cutie!! The only thing I decoupaged on this was her front wings. I inked around the square of her image. I also inked around the strips that I added on the side. Those are Basic Grey papers that I have had forever! I used black cardstock for the background, I stamped with several different stamps from Paper Smooches. I love these! I embossed each of them with white ink and I smeared some white chalk around with my finger to add that dirty chalk board look. I really love the look that it gives!!  For the inside I just added the embossed cross.. same stamp set from Paper Smooches :)

Use A Digi @ One Stitch At A Time

Happy Sunday everyone. I hope you all are having a really nice weekend! We had storms go through on Thursday evening. We lost power for a little bit and a tree in the yard broke at the top. No major damage or anything. I took the kids to the movies on Friday around noon.. they were going to see Fast 6. When we got back home at 1 pm or so, we had lost power! I spent the next few hours trying to find a good place to connect back into work, which I did. We didn't have power until after 7 pm. It was really strange because we had power after the storm all the way to midday the next day and then nothing LOL Oh well.. at least we got power back and all is good. They were some really strong storms, a lot of rain and wind! I hope the rest of you did all right through the storms if you had any go through!

Yesterday, Kevin and I were going to go see a movie. We always go to the 10:30 am movie, because there isn't much of a crowd. We went and the parking lot was full today! So, we changed our mind and went back home LOL Maybe next weekend! It is the opening weekend for Superman and I should have known it would be that way! LOL Kevin went for a ride instead, we watched Oz the Great and Powerful.. it was okay, and then later in the evening we went out and and he had a coffee. I just needed to get out for a bit. It has been a nice weekend. I have been coloring.. LOL Thats the usual ;)

This week we have Challenge #168: Use A Digi over at One Stitch At A Time. For this challenge I used a Stitchy Designs Image - So Sorry. I love this little fairy!! Here is my card:

I colored the image with Copic Markers. I added some glitter to her wings and gems to the sentiment on the front and the centers of her flowers in her hair. The papers are all from Basic Grey and this is from a 6x6 pack: Kneehighs. Love these papers! I used one of my edge punches on the green.

Copic:
Hair - B01, B02, B04, YG01, YG05, YG07, YG09
Flowers and Dress Petals - RV02, RV04 RV06
Leaves and Dress Leaves and Shoes - G12, G14, G19, G29

Favorite Sports

I just can't express how much I love the Olympics. I look forward to it every two years. I find such joy watching all of these athletes who have worked so hard for so long participate in these events. And they are so peaceful and kind to each other. I just love it!

I do have my favorite sports.. I am REALLY enjoying the women's soccer, volleyball and beach volleyball. Those are three of my favorite all time sports! And they are doing so well! It is so exciting!! I really enjoyed watching the archery competition this year too! Who knew! I always enjoy watching the swimming competitions, but there are just so many swimming events! I even enjoyed watching some of the outdoor bicycle races this year.

Sports I don't understand... Tennis.. maybe if I understood it a bit more I might enjoy it better? Maybe.. I just don't know LOL Judo.. what is Judo all about? I thought it was a martial arts competition, but it seems to be more wrestling to me.. I found it very odd. And then there are those that I can watch a little bit of them, but then I get restless LOL They would be the water polo, hockey type games. Oh and basketball.. We have amazing basketball teams, but I have a hard time sitting there watching them. Basketball just doesn't do it for me. Then there are those that I just can't watch.. I tried.. I really did!!  Badminton, Table Tennis, Synchronized Swimming. Now, don't get me wrong.. these athletes are still amazing and I know they have all trained so hard.. Just not my cup of tea.

What would I like to see?  Hmm.... Grid Iron.. good ole American Football!! Now wouldn't that be fun LOL! Grueling Rugby.. now that would be fun! And what are they bringing to Rio?? I think they are bringing Rugby to Rio.. I'm not positive.. but I believe they are bring Golf. Yuck! LOL I will watch paint dry thank you.. LOL No.. I'm not a golfer.. and I can't imagine sitting there and watching it. I know I know.. another great sport.. again! Just not my cup of tea ;)

So what about you? What are your favorites... least favorites... want a sport added?

Here is a card I've worked on for a couple of days.. I've figured out that I can only seem to get a card finished every other day during the week. It is just too hard to get anything more done when you work all day. It doesn't help that the Olympics are on and a lot of my time is spent looking at the TV LOL!!

I used a bunch of scraps that I had..Basic Grey, Oh Baby! Boy. The planets are Itty Bitty from the Unity Stamp Company. It is called Solar Elem.. and I just love that stamp! the "You're Out Of This World" is from Market Street Stamps - Blast Off. I stitched on this card.. I colored the planets with my Prismacolor Pencils. I used my Brilliance Graphite Black to stamp the sentiment. That's it.. pretty simple card.
