GDT at Creaine - Embroidered Cards*

Good morning everyone! And a very happy Thursday :D  We are so close to the end of the week! I finally received the schedule for Bailey's Lacrosse Tournament this weekend. She plays four games on Saturday and then five games on Sunday. I think Kevin is going to go for a ride in North Georgia while we are away. I'm going to pick up Bailey's boyfriend on the way, so he can hang out for her games. I've invited my mother and sister to come see her if they would like. Work... well... it has been a busy week, but I feel like I have gotten a lot done. I'm going to try to finish up a bunch today and then I'll work from home on Friday. Okay.. enough of all of that! Off to work! I hope you all have a wonderful day!!

So, I was asked to be a Guest Designer at Creaine for October and I was thrilled to be offered the chance and excited to try something new!! This challenge is to Embroider on your card. I have never tried Embroidery, so this was definitely a challenge and I was really excited to try something new!!  Here is what I came up with:

On this card I used Squirrel from Bugaboo Stamps and colored this image with my Copic Markers. I did a bit of layering on this image and added some Diamond Glaze to the nut. I actually purchased this embroidery pattern from someone on Etsy. It is a maple leaf with the wind pattern behind it. The wind is done in a very light blue that is shiny. The leaf is done in a thread that is red, brown and orange. I thought it was perfect for the leaf! I added a bit of ribbon at the top with that hand done bow. I stamped the "Wishing you a harvest of good things!" on the front also. The edges of the kraft are all inked with Sepia. On the inside I also inked the edges and used a nut stamp on one side and a little squirrl on the other only partially stamping those. Then I stamped "...from one nut to another!" on the inside as well.

Thank you Creaine, for the invite to be your Guest Designer. I am truly honored!! Thank you for such a great challenge! It was more simple than I thought it would be, but time consuming. The overall effect is so beautiful though! It is worth the time!!  :)

Copic Markers Used:
  • Squirrel: C1, C3, C5, C7, C9
  • Nut: E33, E35, E37
  • Nut Top: E55, E57, E59
  • Ladybug: R24, R27, R35

Birthday Fishes*

Good morning! I hope you all are having a wonderful week so far! Me... I'm just trying to get through a few days LOL I don't work on Thursday and Friday; I just need to get through these first three days! My kids actually start back to school on Monday next week and Bailey gets to go get her schedule and see where her classes are on Thursday. So, that is what we will be doing. Then I have a couple of Dr. Appointments on Thursday as well. Bailey is SO EXCITED about starting school! She will be a Freshman in High School this year! I can't believe it!

Today I am sharing another Birthday card with you:

I have used my Prismacolor Pencils to color this image and have added a bit of layering to it. I've added Diamond Glaze to the bubbles and then added some gems for additional sparkly bubbles. I also added three gems at the bottom. I added some ribbon and then on top of that I added the bit of twine that I added three colorful fish charms to on the side. I also added three different colors of glitter to the flame: red, orange and yellow. My goal was to make a fun and colorful birthday card with this image from Bugaboo -- Make It Snappy - Birthday Fishes.

Challenge #77 At Tammy's Scrapin Corner

Happy Monday everyone. I can't believe its Monday already. Its just been one of those months. The alternator in the van went out. Kevin was able to change it out, but it still wasn't cheap just for the alternator! When it rains it pours.

Enough of my whining... lets get on with the fun stuff :)  Today over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner we are starting Challenge #77 - Anything Goes!! Woot!! Here is my card for this challenge:

For this challenge I used Skull Girl and Kitty @ Bugaboo Stamps. I used shades of purple bazzill and some black. I used several Spellbinder dies. I used some twine, decoupaged the image and colored the image with Copic. The sentiment was made by myself and I'll be adding it to the Sentimental Susan section at Stitchy Bears soon.

Copic:
Black: C00, C01, C03, C05, C06, C07, C09

Challenge #73 @ Tammy's Scrapin Corner

Good morning! It's been a really really long weekend. I'm having issues with the kids. It just wasn't a good weekend at all. They all want to blame Kevin for all their problems. Their problems... that they don't do what they are asked to do. Anyway... its just been a long weekend with a bunch of grumpy teenagers who hurt everyones feelings and I'm exhausted. I was even contemplating leaving all my DTs for now, but you know what? I enjoy them.. I might ask for a week or two off LOL, but I'm not leaving what I enjoy. Anyway.. enough of my whining!! LOL Not sure what the heck I was thinking having all 3 near enough that they were all teens at once! Okay... have a great week everyone LOL!!

This week we are on Challenge #73 at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and the theme this week is to Use A Digi! I made two things for this challenge... one for each of our wonderful sponsors -- Deasy Designs and Bugaboo Designs.

Here is my first creation... it is an ATC!

I used Deasy Designs for this cute little ATC! I used the puppy and the sun... they are so adorable! These are from the Summer Girl set. I printed the pup and the sun out twice and I popped the actual little pup to be looking over the label and then the middle of the sun I popped as well. I colored everything with Copic. I love these images! I added some copper leafing around the edge of the tag

Copic:
Sun: Y11, Y13, Y15, Y18
Pup: E55, E57, E59
Bow and Glasses: V12, V15, V17

Here is my second creation.. using a Bugaboo Image:

This image is Make It Snappy: Congratulations from Bugaboo Stamps. I love this image! I decoupaged the Congratulations label and some of the flowers. I have colored the image with Copic. I added some lace, the black is a punch and the silver on the side, those are buttons. I also added the two rings on the side. I thought that was a cute addition.

Copic:
Tux: C3, C5, C6, C7, C9
Pearls: E40, E41
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11

Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #68

Good morning! I have spent the weekend crafting. It has been a nice, relaxing weekend. We have a new member of the family. We have had her for a week now, her name is Brisket. She is our new dog that we saved from being put to sleep. She is about 18 months old and she is really fitting in well. She is a really good dog and she seems to be settling down and happy. I'll have to post some photos! So, now we have T-Bone and Brisket... to keep with the steak cut names LOL I hope you all have a great week... off to work time!

Tammy's Scrapin Corner is playing with Challenge #68 this week. Our theme this week is to create a Step Card... any kind of step card. I have done two cards for this challenge:

For this card I used an image from our sponsor SKdigis - Beach Scene. I created a step card, but I colored two of this image and I wanted to use them both, so I also used the waterfall technique. A small waterfall LOL, but a waterfall just the same.I colored these images with my Prismacolor Pencils. I added twine on my pull and an eyelet beach ball as well. I used a stamp for the sentiment and at the bottom I layered torn paper and I used chalk to add some detail.  And that is my first step card.

Challenges:

For this card I used our other sponsors image, Kitchen Chicken Soup - Bugaboo. For this card I spent a lot of time weaving the white and the red paper LOL I cut 1/4" wide strips and when I had them woven I glued them down onto a piece of chipboard. I used one of my Spellbinders dies. I doodled around the edge of it with a 005 Prismacolor Pen. I colored the image with Copic and I layered the pot. I added the sentiment on the left side which I printed on my red paper and cut out. I added the brads under the words just to add that little bit of yellow to bring it all together.

Copic:
Red: R22, R24, R27, R29
Yellow: Y23, Y32
Pot and Spoon: C1, C3, C5, C7
Handle: T3, T5, T7, T9
White Highlight: E41
