One Stitch At A Time Challenge #170

Good morning everyone! The weekend just seems like it has flown by! Kevin went and took the motorcycle test yesterday and got his driver's license. Bailey had a birthday party at the skating rink and we took her to that. Then we had to run down my sister's motorcycle back to Atlanta. Yesterday late afternoon we went and saw Superman. That has been the weekend so far. And Superman!!! WAS FANTASTIC!!!! But... after all that, it's already Sunday and the weekend is almost over!! And that stinks!! Alright... on to the challenge this week.

We are on Challenge #170 at One Stitch At A Time. Our theme for this challenge is the ever popular Anything Goes!!

For this challenge I used Heartfelt House by Hope Jacare Doodles. I love this image and I had fun coloring it. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils. I used Mister Huey's Bubbles Mask for the background and sprayed it with Butterscotch spray. The papers are all from Club Scrap. I have these kids forever! The buttons I've had forever too LOL So that is from my stash. I popped the roof. I added the yellow ribbon and I created the sentiment. I wanted to go with a yellow ribbon Welcome Home theme. Thats it!! Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

For this challenge I was lucky enough to be able to work with Devilish Donna from KennyK. I love all his images.. they are just fantastic! And easy to color and just FUN! I colored the image with Copic. I added a small pearl swirl, crinkle ribbon that is a hot pinkish color and the flowers. The cutout circle I created with Spellbinders dies and the sentiment was created by me. I decoupaged several parts of the image. I popped each ruffle on the dress seperately and I also popped the top of the dress and her hair. You can see that in the close up photos of the image. I tried to show it the best I could. The papers are all from my stash and I have no idea where they are from. They have been in my stash for oh so many years LOL.

Meljens Designs Challenge #162

Happy Thursday everyone!! This was a short week, but it really hasn't felt that way. But alas! it is finally Thursday. I have to get through today and then I can work in my pajamas tomorrow LOL! I hope you all have had a great week.. almost time to enjoy the weekend!! I have been spending my time coloring. I have a few images complete that I need to put on some cards. I'll be working on that in the next day or two. On to the Meljens Challenge ...

Today we are starting a new challenge at Meljens Designs and this week it is a fun color challenge!

Fun colors!! Totally made me think of summer! I guess the photo kind of helped with that too LOL!!  So here is what I came up with:

For this challenge I used two images from Meljens Designs: Beach Umbrella is on one side and Brooke At The Beach is on the other side. They just fit so perfectly together!! I colored the image with Copic. I did some decoupage/popped up several parts of the image: the shells, the crab, part of the umbrella, the pail. I layered torn paper at the bottom to add texture for the sand and see. I used chalk on the edges of the torn paper. I also cut out a cloud shape and inked the background to look like clouds. So, I just made a little beach scene! Now I want to go to the beach! LOL These two images were really fun to work with and they were amazing how they worked so perfectly together to make this card! The inside I used some of the light kraft paper and tore it at the bottom.

Copic:
Sand: E50, E51, E53, E55
Shells: E50, E51, E53, E55, YR02, YR07
Crab: R20, R22, R24
Umbrella: BG10, BG11, BG13, BG18, YG03, YG06, YG09, YR02, YR04, YR07, YR09, RV000, RV02, RV21

Happy Saturday and for those of you in the US.. Happy Memorial Day weekend. It's so nice to have a long weekend! I took off Thursday and Friday as well. Kevin and I went and saw the new Star Trek film last weekend... GREAT movie! Friday we went and saw Fast and Furious.. another great movie to see ... Love the action in these movies. And then yesterday we went and saw Iron Man. I didn't think Iron Man was as good as the last two, but it was alright. Today, my mother comes over fora  bit. I'm going to grill some hamburgers. Other than that I have been coloring LOL I hope you all have a great weekend!!!

Time for a new challenge over at Crafting When We Can! Our challenge this time is to use Die Cuts and/or Punches. Here is my card:

For this card I used Happy Hour by KennyK. The images are absolutely wonderful to work with. For this image I used Copic to color. I popped her dress and the Martini.  I used Diamond Glaze on the glass to give it that glass effect. All of the patterned paper was scraps. The dies are used are the flowers and the pink leaves. These were all from Spellbinders and My Favorite Things. I added Pearls to the center of the flowers. I used some puff paint, pink, for her pearl necklace, bracelet and earrings. I also pulled out my corner punch. I haven't used that in ages. The Congrats stamp is from a Doodlebug Hampton Arts set. I used the same paper on the inside.
