Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #11 - Christmas / Hanukkah

Good evening everyone! I am a bit behind getting my project posted. My hubby just had surgery. He had both wrists done for Carpal Tunnel and his trigger finger fixed as well. I've been playing nurse :)  So! I apologize for posting late and I hope to see you joining in on our challenge :)

We have some fantastic sponsors for November!

We want to thank all of our sponsors for their generosity. Thank you so very much.. you are so appreciated! Be sure to visit their shops!

Here is my project for our November Challenge:

For this card I have used 'Pulling Down The Christmas Tree' from Knitty Kitty Digis. I've used my Copic Markers to color up this image. I've used some foam tape to pop up the different levels of the tree. The Merry Christmas is die cut and I've added a few gems. I've also added a bit of Wink Of Stella around the tree. I had a lot of fun coloring all the different kittens! On the inside I used a corner die.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun Challenge #10 - Thanks / Thanksgiving / Thank You

Good morning everyone and Happy 10th of October! Today is the start of the October Challenge #10 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun. This month we would like to see some Thanks, Thank You, even Thanksgiving cards.  We have some amazing sponsors this month.. as we do each month :)  Our sponsors for Challenge #10 are:

Please be sure to visit the fantastic sponsors and show them some love. Where would we be without our wonderful artists? And thank you sponsors for sponsoring with Open-Minded Crafting Fun. We truly appreciate you and all you do for our crafting community.

Wow.. it has been a while since I've been able to craft or post or anything. Working 60+ hours a week will do that to you I guess. I did manage to get this finished this month:

I have used Owl Bet It's Fall from The Stamping Boutique. I printed the image on kraft and conored with my Prismacolor Pencils. I used My Favorite Things die cuts for the shaker part at the bottom, the leaves and the oval around the image. I've added some inking on some parts of the card. Thanks So Much was stamped and then I also added some dew drops. I decorated the inside with additional inking and leaves. Thanks for taking a peak!

In Memory Poppies Easel

Good evening everyone!!  I hope you are all well!!  Just life happening here.Work has been a real challenge lately and that will continue. I'm just doing what I can and the best I can and that is all I can do. So that is that! haha!! I have been trying to spend my weekends and evenings crafting. Sometimes that works and other times it just doesn't. Like last night... hubby wanted to watch a movie with me .. Risen. He wanted me to spend time with him hehehe!!  So, I turned off the pc... gave up on crafting last night and just spent time with him and watching the movie. The movie was really great too.

What else.. the kids have been out of school for a bit. I took Michael up to Dahlonega to stay with Taylor, my oldest daughter, for the summer. My youngest just goes out every day all day!! To the pool, to friends houses. She doesn't ever want to be home.

And that is what is going on in the Kennedy household right now. I'm watching The Stanley Cup Finals and rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins. And they are up by two games... woohoo! I have always been taken with goalies.. and right now I am loving Matt Murray. He is a rookie goalie for the Penguins and I just think he is magnificent! He will have a great career ahead of him. So... that is who I am rooting for! I hope he takes it home. Although I was really surprised that they started Murray since their goalie is healed, healthy and ready to play. I love hockey! And I'm enjoying watching them play!

Okay.. enough of my rambling.. Onto my card for today:

I have used a Delicious Doodles image - Remembrance. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils. I then cut around it with a My Favorite Things die. The background was done using pastels. I have done a bit of layering on the image as well. I decided to create an easel card with this image. All of the pieces were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I have managed to use a host of scrap papers for this! I am still trying to get rid of some of my scraps! I've used a bit of ink around the kraft pieces and the light blue paper. I also added some large black pearls to the top of the easel where the image resides. I added the poppy flowers at the bottom and also added a "deepest Sympathy" stamp at the bottom. There are also a couple of the large black pearls added to the bottom to tie it all in.

Our wonderful sponsors for May are:

Thank you so much for your amazing sponsorship's this year!!  We can't express how appreciative we are to all of you!! And here is my card creation for this challenge:

For this one I have used The Little Dragonfly from Julia Spiri Stamps. I have no idea where I picked up this awesome flower scene. It is just loaded with tulips. When I saw it I thought it would be perfect to put her flying above them. I colored everything with my Copic markers. I have used a couple of die cuts and everything is done with scraps. I also added the ribbon, the small pearls on the butterfly and the small star gems that I purchased from Etsy. I have done a bit of image layering on this and there is my favorite technique... well one of them! I love decoupage, layering my images. I also love coloring with Copics, die cuts and creating backgrounds with Distress Ink. I have also used some Copic Opaque White on her hair.

Copic Markers Used:

Mother's Day Apes

Good morning and a VERY Happy Mother's Day To All of the Mother's out there!! I hope you all have a beautiful day full of doing whatever YOU want to do! That is what I plan on doing :)  Not much of anything but coloring and crafting. Maybe a little tinkering on the pc. No errands, no going out... today is all about us, right? hehehe  Have a wonderful day!!

Today I am posting one more Mother's Day card. This one sold already.

This one is using Flower Monkey from A Day For Daisies. I've colored this image with Copic Markers and I've created the sky using a monthly lesson from Kit and Clowder. I've added several die cuts, the vines, the oval, the butterfly. I cut the yellow flowers to make those pop. I've added some coloring and inking to add some dimension to the die cuts. I've also added some gems to the center of those yellow flowers and small pearls to the butterfly. I've added some small paper flowers, the sentiment is a stamp. These papers were from a pad and the black and papers used for the die cuts are all from scraps. I thought these papers were perfect for this card.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Gorillas: N0, N1, N3, N5, N7, N9
  • Sky: Y15, Y17, YR14, YR16, E15
  • Grass: G21, G94, YG67, G99

Mother's Day Digi Darlas

Good morning everyone! I can't believe tomorrow is Mother's Day!! Today I am going to take my mother to our church. They are having a BBQ Fundraiser this weekend. We are going to go over there and have a nice BBQ plate with everyone. It is going to be a beautiful day to be outside too! It should be fun :) And then tomorrow will be my day to do nothing HAHA! Just what I want! I can hang out and color or do whatever I want! Isn't that what is supposed to happen on Mother's Day? hehehe

That will be the weekend...  a bit of a relaxed weekend I'm hoping. The weekends really do go by too quickly.  What else is going on with everyone?  My oldest, Taylor, finished up her finals this week at University. She will finish up with A's and B's for this semester. She isn't really keen on her Accounting or Finance professors. She took five (5) classes this past semester too. I think it was a bit overwhelming for her. I think she will go down to four (4) classes again as it seemed more manageable. And with Taylor, she wants all A's and it was a lot harder to get that with the extra class. She felt like one class was always getting neglected. Good on her for wanting to do well. I'm really proud of her.

My other two have two more weeks left in High School. They have their End of Course Testing next week and the following week. From what they tell me, everyone is passing everything. That means that Michael will pass math and that is HUGE! But his teacher is making him do the work and he is succeeding. After school is out I'm sending him to his sister for the summer. He says that he wants to come back after summer and finish at Allatoona. With that said, his sister and I have spoken and Michael can graduate on time, the end of next year, if he gets through three math classes. The only way I can see him successfully doing that is with his sister's help. She is a whiz at math and she will be able to help him. I am not able to help him because I can't remember half of that stuff. It has just been too long since I've done any of that. Her and I talked about it and we will see if she can convince him to stay up there and get through his last year. Time will tell :)

Well... that is all the rambling I will do! Here is a Mother's Day card from me:

This is an image from Digi Darla's, who is no longer around. The image is Loving Arms. I've colored this with Copic Markers. I created the wall and floor around the image of the mother and baby on the chair. I've added the little porcelain flowers, some skittles, twine and charm. The Happy Mother's Day is stamped. I've managed to use all scraps for this card. The banner is die cut as are the corners on the inside. I added some additional skittles on the inside as well. I have done a small amount of layering on the image.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, E00, E21, E11, E04, R20
  • Baby Blanket: B000, B00, B01, B02, B04

Super Mom You Are Appreciated

Good morning! I hope you all have had a great week. Bailey and I went to the Varsity Girls Lacrosse game last night to show our support. They had a great game and added another win to their year. I believe they only have two games left.

Tonight we are going to the Kennesaw University Girls Lacrosse game. I'm hoping they can get another win too! It is really fun to watch them play! I keep trying to get the team to go, but they aren't joining us, so I will keep trying. I really think they would all enjoy it. The Atlanta Blaze actually play their season opener on Saturday. I think we are not going to be making that game though. I'm really excited to have them here though! How fun! Major League Lacrosse team right in our backyard! :D  Let's see... and then there is Sunday and that will be church and then Bailey has Khaos Lacrosse practice.

Our plans this weekend are to bleach and repaint our front porch! We have a bit of mildew growing, so we think it is time to clean it up and repaint. Bailey has been told that she can't go anywhere and can't have friends over this weekend so she can pitch in. She is a little High School social lite! and wants to always be doing something!!  So, that is the weekend! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get some crafting done.. I'm hoping to get a little bit done myself!

For this Appreciation/Mother's Day card, I've chosen to use the awesome Super Mom from KennyK Stamps. I love her!! I've used some scrap patterned papers that I had. I think I've used up all that spotted paper, which I love! I've inked the edges of the papers. I've added some twine and a charm. The die cut around the image is a My Favorite Things. I've stamped the sentiment on the front. On the inside I have used the same papers inked around the edges. I did a small amount of popping on this image... just her arm. I've colored her with Copic Markers.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Skin: E000, e00, E21, E11, E04, R20
  • Skirt, Shoes and Red on Dress: R20, R22, R24, R29, E99
  • Blouse: BG70, BG72, BG75
  • Hair: E71, E74, E77, E79
  • Eyes: YG01, YG05, YG09
