Winners and Midway Post for Challenge #25 at Open-Minded Crafting Fun Today!

Good morning! It is Saturday morning!!  Kevin and I got approved for a house loan last week so we have been out looking at houses. Our lease is up here at the end of February and I have to give the landlord a 60 day notice.. so really we have to get going LOL  Doesn't give us as much time as we were thinking!  Today we will be out again looking at homes. We looked on line... we narrowed that list down. Now we are going by the houses and narrowing it down more and then we will have our short list of homes that we want to go inside to see. It is working well. We saw at least 20 homes yesterday and we narrowed it down to two that we want to see the inside LOL  So, I think thats pretty good! And me.. well.. I have it all organized LOL  People who know me laugh .. won't you Vicky :p  But it worked for us yesterday!!  Hopefully we will get a lot done today. I need some time to craft!

We have winners! They are posted on the Open-Minded Crafting Fun blog this morning for Challenge #24. Be sure to come back at noon to see all of the fantastic Midway creations for Challenge #25!

Our amazing sponsors for Challenge #25 are:

Here is mine:

For this card I've used Ashee from A & T Digital Stamps. Ashee is not a Christmas stamp... so I used a non Christmas Stamp and really some non Christmas colors for my unusual aspect for Challenge #25. I added the black lace, the ribbon, the bells and a bit of glitter on those white spots on the mushroom. Those little white spots on the mushroom are the only decoupage on this piece. I used Copic markers to color and a Christmas stamp with white ink on black.

Copic Markers Used:
  • Hat and Tights: RV21, RV23, RV25; W5, W7, W9
  • Mushroom: R24, R35, R46; E50, E51
  • Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, E13
  • Grass: YG01, YG05, YG07, YG67

Tammy's Challenge #84!!.

Happy Monday everyone! Another Monday.. Oh boy!! LOL I've had a lot going on! This past week, Michael was suppose to have his first Improv show, but the drama teacher lost his uncle on that same day. We are hoping to reschedule it. It doesn't have to be planned too much... It IS Improv!! LOL  So, that made it so I was able to go see Bailey's first orchestra concert this year. That was Thursday night. On Friday, the kids went to one of the local Elementary schools to volunteer at their Fall Festival. Then!! LOL On Saturday morning, Bailey had to be at the local high school for a "Solo Ensemble" judging. Her and 3 of her classmates had a small group and they went in front of a judge. Bailey was thinking that they wouldn't do well, but they got a 2 which was Excellent. I think that is pretty good! That was the week... on top of the normal -- Mom, I need to go in early every single day because I want to be a part of every single club LOL Oh! and by the way... I have to go in a little bit earlier for two, because I'm going to be part of Leadership LOL That's Bailey. Michael only stayed after one day. Wait!!! They only went to school Wednesday, Thursday and Friday LOL!!! I'm exhausted! Okay.. enough of that! I'm sure you have heard enough of my rambling LOl On to the challenge:

I used papers from a Bo Bunny Surprise! Collection 6x6 pad and a DCWV Mat Stack cardstock. The stamp Under the Sea by My Thoughts Exactly. After I colored up the fish I used the Colorless Blender to add some texture to the fish.

It's Monday!! How about a new challenge over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner?

Good morning! Yep... another Monday morning!  They come around too quickly!

Today we are on Challenge #71 over at Tammy's Scrapin Corner and the theme this week is Camping! So get your campers, your tents and your s'more's out! I can't wait to see your designs!! My little guy is fishing on his camping trip! :)  Here he is:

I thought I would try out a circle step card. I used a large Spellbinders circle for the card and then a smaller circle and a scalloped circle as well on the larger side. I also used a die to cut around the image and the flowers are dies. I colored the image with Copic. The Camp Out, the fish and the On The Lake tag are all rub-ons. I rubbed them onto cardstock and then fussy cut around the rub-ons. I added some cheesecloth on top of the circle dies and I added several different ribbons along the bottom of the circles. Three pearls to the center of the flowers and that is everything. Oh! and I inked around the image and the flowers. It was a fun card to make!

Copic:
Pads: T3, T5, T7, T9
Bear: E33, E35, E37, E39
Water: B21, B23, B45
Grass: YG01, YG05, YG07, YG17

Saturday Happenings

Good evening everyone!! I'm up way too late.. Kevin will not be happy when he sees this post LOL Who needs sleep LOL!! Today I have been working on cards all day. I was able to get 3 cards finished.. My goal is to get a good bit ahead in all of my DT responsibilities where I can. I like to be ahead! I'm just that type of person though.. be ahead of schedule, always way too early, that's me!

I did have to go out once today and that was to get a string repaired on Bailey's Viola. Now, they haven't even started learning how to play at school yet, but she is always in her room trying to mess with it and play LOL Hey.. I'm glad she is excited about it!! She did break a string though.. the thickest string on the Viola! She did this a few nights ago. I was in bed when I got a couple of texts LOL They were all.. I promise I won't mess with it anymore until the teacher tells us what to do... I won't even take it out... I'm really sorry, but the string broke. I had to chuckle.. so since I was already asleep! LOL I let her sit on it until the morning and told her it just happens... Orchestra strings break. They will begin playing on Tuesday, so she is all set to go.

Bailey and I also tried a Pinterest today... well... I tried it on her LOL I saw this on Pinstrosity.. I LOVE this site!! Always gives me a good laugh! Now, Bailey has much shorter hair than me... so it really made her hair poofy LOL She was not happy! She kept telling me she looked like a boy at school.. I'm really wondering about that one LOL So here she is with the foil:
And here she is after we pressed and took the hair out of the foil:

A bit pooooofy! LOL But still cute! We did it to my hair too... I need to do less hair, but it really works.. its amazing.  So, that was our fun today!

Here is a card I worked on:

The image of the angel is from Papelitos Stamps. You should definitely take a look. And the bats came from Eureka Stamps. I had the Copics that I used saved.. then I deleted that photo and now I have no idea LOL The charm was from my stash, which means I have had that for no less than 5 years LOL All of the papers were scraps. The stitching done with my handy dandy sewing machine. The twine was a gift and it was the perfect color.. Just what I needed :) Oh.. and all of the bats are diamond glazed. They are all darker around the edge because I used my 100 Copic on them. Now... I'm too tired to keep my eyes open... 4 am comes early! So I'm going to lay down and I will post to challenges tomorrow LOL

Good night everyone!

Tammy's A Day for Daisies and Eureka Stamps

Today begins a new challenge at Tammy's Scrapin Corner

The theme this week is Challenge #23 - 8-13-2012 - Add Some Flowers!  Here is my first card using Hummingbird by A Day For Daisies. What better way to add some flowers than with an adorable hummingbird.
I used my Darice embossing folder to emboss dots on the light blue paper behind the hummingbird. I used a Sketchabilities to cut that paper. I used my EK punch on the black paper. All of the papers were from my scrap box.. which isn't any less.. I think it reproduces LOL The flowers were made with My Favorite Things dies (yes they are my favorite LOL) many different dies. The leaves are different dies. I glittered the edges of some of the flowers. I used glitter on the neck of the hummingbird as well. I colored him with Copics. I should have written down the colors..I can't remember. And I stitched around the edge with green thread.
Challenges:
The second card I did for this challenge:
The image is from Eureka Stamps - 'Friends Are'. I colored the hearts and dots with Copic. I used all scraps.. inked the edges of the white with black ink. I wet and crumbled the black paper. I used ribbon and pearls from my stash and made the three flowers with rolled roses from My Favorite Things. I also stitched around the edges. Simple card.. well.. simple for me LOL Tip: When crumbling cardstock to make it all distressed and wrinkled, wet it thoroughly first. It makes it much easier to crumble up without ripping. Then just lay it out, flatten it a bit and let it dry thoroughly.
