Poppy Frame Sympathy

Good morning and a very happy Sunday!! It has been a good weekend, but I can't believe it is over already! Watched the hockey game last night, did a bit of crafting this weekend. Bailey has Lacrosse practice.. lots of racing this weekend. That's it.. a good weekend .. I hope you all had a great weekend too!

Sad news in our MotoGP racing though... RIP Luis Salom who crashed in the Moto2 practice session and has sadly passed away. He was an amazing talent on the bikes. He will be missed.

Today I wanted to share another sympathy card with you .. fitting:

For this one I have used another Delicious Doodles image - Poppy and Butterfly Border. I've also used Poppy Paper from Delicious Doodles. I've colored everything with Copic Markers and I've done a bit of layering of the images as well. The cloud paper in the frame is from a scrap piece of paper. I added some gems, a ribbon and a deepest sympathy stamp. I also added some of the Poppy Paper and some gems on the inside to help tie it all together.

Copic Markers Used:
    • Flowers: R22, R24, R46, R59
    • Leaves & Stems: YG01, YG05, YG09, YG67
    • Butterfly and Yellow On Frame: Y00, Y11, Y15, YR23, YR24
    • Gray On Frame: C00, C1, C3
    • Butterfly and Poppy Middle: C5, C7, C9

In Memory Poppies Easel

Good evening everyone!!  I hope you are all well!!  Just life happening here.Work has been a real challenge lately and that will continue. I'm just doing what I can and the best I can and that is all I can do. So that is that! haha!! I have been trying to spend my weekends and evenings crafting. Sometimes that works and other times it just doesn't. Like last night... hubby wanted to watch a movie with me .. Risen. He wanted me to spend time with him hehehe!!  So, I turned off the pc... gave up on crafting last night and just spent time with him and watching the movie. The movie was really great too.

What else.. the kids have been out of school for a bit. I took Michael up to Dahlonega to stay with Taylor, my oldest daughter, for the summer. My youngest just goes out every day all day!! To the pool, to friends houses. She doesn't ever want to be home.

And that is what is going on in the Kennedy household right now. I'm watching The Stanley Cup Finals and rooting on the Pittsburgh Penguins. And they are up by two games... woohoo! I have always been taken with goalies.. and right now I am loving Matt Murray. He is a rookie goalie for the Penguins and I just think he is magnificent! He will have a great career ahead of him. So... that is who I am rooting for! I hope he takes it home. Although I was really surprised that they started Murray since their goalie is healed, healthy and ready to play. I love hockey! And I'm enjoying watching them play!

Okay.. enough of my rambling.. Onto my card for today:

I have used a Delicious Doodles image - Remembrance. I colored the image with my Prismacolor Pencils. I then cut around it with a My Favorite Things die. The background was done using pastels. I have done a bit of layering on the image as well. I decided to create an easel card with this image. All of the pieces were cut using the Silhouette Cameo. I have managed to use a host of scrap papers for this! I am still trying to get rid of some of my scraps! I've used a bit of ink around the kraft pieces and the light blue paper. I also added some large black pearls to the top of the easel where the image resides. I added the poppy flowers at the bottom and also added a "deepest Sympathy" stamp at the bottom. There are also a couple of the large black pearls added to the bottom to tie it all in.

DT Day at Meljen's

Good morning everyone. I am back to normal... my desk is a WRECK! LOL But it is so nice to be back to creating! I really, really need to clean it off though before I move on to the next card.

Today is my DT Day at Meljen's, so I'll share my card with you. The theme is Fancy Folds and I panicked a little this morning because I couldn't remember what the theme was and thought.. Oh no! What if I did it wrong LOL But I'm all good.. I did a center step card for a colleague at work who just lost her father. And here it is:

I used Meljen's image - Window Cat. I thought it was the perfect image for a Sympathy card. I painted the window with acrylic paints and I colored the cat with my Prismacolor Pencils. I used the one die cut swirl and the die cut with the sentiment on the front. I paper folded the corner and added the flowers and buttons. The papers are all scraps and the base is Kraft. I decorated the inside as well.
