Way back in 2012 I published my third novel Lucky Bastard, which was also my first book to be published in hardcover. It had a limited run before the trade paperback version was published, so while there are some used or well-loved copies of the hardcover edition floating around on Amazon and eBay, it’s difficult to find any unsullied copies for sale.
However, it just so happens that I have twenty (20) 1st edition hardcover copies of Lucky Bastard that are fresh out of the box. They have the added benefit of being signed and can also be inscribed if so desired (to you or someone else as a gift).
How much would this cost, you ask? $37.00 would be the answer – $23 for the hardcover edition and $14 for USPS Priority Mail in their small flat-rate shipping box that fits the book like a glove.

One of the things that’s challenging about self-publishing a book is getting the word out to new readers and letting people, new readers as well as current fans, know that the book exists. And while authors are able to reach some of those new readers, we’re often limited in our reach and depend on others to help get the word out.
All books, especially self-published books, thrive best with the nourishment of love from readers.
So for those of you who have read and enjoyed Lost Creatures, anything you can do to help spread the word is appreciated.
So how can you help? Well, there are all sorts of ways.

The concept for “Scattered Showers with a Chance of Daikaiju,” the opening story in Lost Creatures, came to me while watching the movie War of the Gargantuas back in 1990. I thought: if Japan is always being attacked by giant monsters, would meteorologists in Japan forecast daikaiju attacks along with the weather?
