Scrappy Monday y'all! I didn't get quite as much done this weekend as I might have liked, but I'm still up to 160 pages done for this year so I'm pretty pleased with that. And since the 4th of July is on Saturday, I thought I'd share a layout from another 4th of July!
I love that Happiness Blooms DSP! I had fun using some very bright colors on this layout. Maybe not your typical red-white-blue, but still fun. I think this is the first time I've used Lovely Lipstick as a page base and I loved it here.
Today's nontraditional color palette: Lovely Lipstick, Pink Passion (that's been retired a loooooong time!), Call Me Clover, Tempting Turquoise, Night of Navy, and Whisper White.
Supplies, all SU!
Stamps: Tall Tales Alphabet, Tall Tales Numbers, Happy Everything, July Fourth, Best Yet
Ink: Night of Navy, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Versamark
Paper: Lovely Lipstick, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Thick Whisper White, Happiness Blooms DSP
Accessories: Tempting Turquoise embossing powder

Friday Flashback: For All You Do
Happy Friday, ya'll! How are you this rainy afternoon? Yeah, I'm late getting my Friday Flashback post up, but today we're celebrating the retired stamp set For All You Do, which is really cute even if the name isn't very descriptive. So let's get started!
Japan pages! The butterfly next to "Park" is the one from today's stamp set. This layout is a little busier than my usual style, what with three different patterned papers and the more complicated placement of all the elements, but I do really love it.
That wee flower on the journaling block is from For All You Do...
And there's the butterfly again. And I'm sad that that was all I had in the archives for this set, and so I set out to remedy that today.
I continue to be enamored of CAS cards this week (I thought to myself, I can't stop CAS-ing and then I laughed because I amuse myself) and this one started with the color challenge from Cupcake Inspirations:
I wrote down pink, yellow and purple so I accidentally got a real hot pink instead of a baby pink. Oops. I also used this week's CAS(E) This Sketch:
And I kinda want to make like five more cards with it. Anyway, when I made the first card I kept thinking the colors were yellow, pink, and teal like a certain My Little Pony:
Hi Fluttershy! So when I re-read the challenge colors I thought I should make a Fluttershy card anyway, so bonus Friday Flashback card!
To be honest though, I'm not sure how much I like this one. I do like the colors together (So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Bermuda Bay) but I'm not sure about my composition here. I did some Wink of Stella on the butterfly for a wee bit of sparkle.
Since I wasn't 100% thrilled with that card, I made another one, but not another Fluttershy one.
Okay, what is the deal. I edit my photos on the computer and then somehow when I go to upload them on the blog they look so much darker! Grr. Anyway, the idea for this card popped into my head and I figured that I really hadn't done justice to the stamp set so I made a third card. The sentiment on this one is from Great Friend, another set with a pretty butterfly and a nondescript name, and they share a stamp case in my house.
Anyway, for this last card I used the color combo from Pals Paper Arts:
So there you have it, this Flashback was equal parts old and new projects. Hope you have a great weekend, y'all!

Friday Flashback: Filigree
Happy Friday! This week's Friday Flashback stamp set is Filigree, which was one of my favorite background stamps for a very long time...oh who are we kidding, I still love me some Filigree. But I don't want you to spend all weekend trying to make it through the entire Flashback, so I just picked out a few favorite older projects with Filigree.
Oh wow, I just saw in the Splitcoast gallery that Filigree retired in 2005!
Wow, way back in the archives for this one: that's Vintage Violet!
Here's a wedding card with one of the "Best of" sets they did a couple years ago. Filigree is stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear EP; it also looks pretty fabulous done in metallic EP or Iridescent Ice. Which is on the retiring list, to my great surprise. I love that stuff!
Here's a patriotic eagle card. Oy, back in the day when all I had was cheap big box store ribbon. I don't have much current SU! ribbon, but I do have a laundry basket full of retired stuff :)
Aww, this one's sweet. I miss Regal Rose sometimes.
You know what? I think a lighthouse makes for good symbolism on a thinking of you or sympathy card.
Okay, one last one with the kissing technique and a fabulous butterfly. Of course you recently saw a Filigree-kissed sun on my Here Comes the Sun layout this Monday.
So that's all I'm sharing from the archives today, otherwise you'd be here until next Friday. Here is today's new creation:
Today's colo(u)r combo is from ColourQ:
It's been a really long time since I busted out the Cool Caribbean, I still have quite a stash of 8.5x11 cardstock which makes me happy. Sadly, the year that Cool Caribbean was an In Color I wasn't scrapbooking much at all so I never got any 12x12 in the In Colors.
I also used this week's Mojo Monday sketch:
I had a Goldilocks moment with the gold circle element--I wanted to use one of the gold doilies I have, but the smaller size was too small and the larger size was too big, so in the end I just die-cut a plain circle and it was juuuust right.
Hope y'all have a wonderful weekend, peeps. I think we're supposed to get thunderstorms today and tomorrow, so that means it's a good opportunity to stay home and work in my craft cave!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Filigree, Stippled Blossoms, Thank You Kindly
Ink: Cool Caribbean, Calypso Coral, Smoky Slate, Basic Gray, Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: Cool Caribbean, Basic Black, Thick Whisper White, Gold Foil
Accessories: Circles Framelits, Hexagon punch, Dimensionals

Friday Flashback: Secret Garden
Hey y'all, happy Friday. This week's Friday Flashback stamp set is Secret Garden. So let's hop to it!
Let's start off with some shiny gold chevrons, shall we? I think the Strawberry Slush flowers really pop against the lighter colors and the gold.
And here's a less successful card; there are matching Secret Garden Framelits and the stamp set Simple Stems works with them too.
And for the last part of the Flashback, I made this one for the Sweet Serendipity flashback a little while back. So that's it for digging around the archives, and here is today's brand new card:
This time I hand-cut the flowers instead of using the Framelits because my little girl dog parked herself right behind my chair and I couldn't get up (I'm absolutely certain she does that on purpose). I need a birthday card for my MIL, so I turned to this week's Create with Connie and Mary color challenge:
I did only use SU! products, though the stamps are retired; they don't specifically say that's against their rules but if it is then they can throw paper scraps at me. I love it when Elegant Eggplant shows up in color challenges, which happens next to never so I had to play along.
I also really liked this week's CAS(E) This Sketch:
So that's it for me today, folks. I need to go vacuum the house (hopefully the vacuum won't try to knock me down the stairs this time) and get my Thanksgiving shopping list ready. Cheers, peeps!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Secret Garden, Happy Everything
Ink: Island Indigo, Versamark
Paper: Island Indigo, Elegant Eggplant, Thick Whisper White
Accessories: Gold EP, Dimensionals
Also features Perfectly Penned, Positively Chevron
Also features Simple Stems, Blessings from Heaven, Gorgeous Grunge
Also features Sweet Serendipity

Friday Flashback: True Friend
Happy Friday, peeps. For this week's Friday Flashback, our retired stamp set is True Friend which came out in the 2007 holiday mini catalog so this one's quite the oldie. Grab your cuppa tea and let's Flashback!
Starting off with a cute and simple set of cards that you could do in any color. I like 'em. (Mom, something like this might be good for your Christmas card project...)
A fun and bright birthday card...
And one more for good measure. Can ya tell I like that big flower.
And here's a few of the other stamps in the set. I do like the "true friend" sentiment but I haven't used it much.
Not my favorite card, it was for a combination SCS sketch and color challenge and this sketch just didn't do anything for me.
And the last card of the Flashback has lots o' layers. I miss the ticket corner punch.
So for today's new project, I bring you a scrapbook layout:
Yay me getting more pages done. This is the first layout I've made with pictures from this year; these were taken last spring in Alabama. I wish I'd gotten the spacing a bit better on the stamped part of the title, and really the purple letters show up better IRL than they do in the picture (it was very overcast and kinda dark when I took the photo). I do love the color combination I used:
Kiwi Kiss, Rose Red, Pink Pirouette, and Lavender Lace. This layout came together pretty fast once I'd picked the patterned papers I wanted to use.
And that's all she wrote this week, peeps. Have a great weekend!
Supplies, Spring layout only:
Stamps: True Friend, Sweet Shoppe Alphabet
Ink: Rose Red, Chocolate Chip marker
Paper: Kiwi Kiss, Pink Pirouette, Lavender Lace, Bali Breeze DSP, Pink Pirouette DSP
Accessories: non-SU lettering template
Also features Hugs & Wishes
Also features Priceless, Polka Dot
Also features Happy Everything & Boho Friend Wheel
And one more for good measure. Can ya tell I like that big flower.
And here's a few of the other stamps in the set. I do like the "true friend" sentiment but I haven't used it much.
Also features Wonderful Favorites, Flannel Plaid, Itty Bitty Backgrounds

Also features Paisley, Warm Words
And the last card of the Flashback has lots o' layers. I miss the ticket corner punch.

Happy Birthday Sadie
I'm so happy to be reunited with my pups! So today I'm sharing a layout from Sadie's birthday.
Sadie is the disgruntled-looking dog in the red hat. You can see the pics up close on this blog post.
And there's how I did the title, and I used the same DSP I made myself as from the layout for Vader's birthday. I actually did these layouts back-to-back so they coordinate quite a lot.
Thanks for stopping by!
Supplies, mostly SU!
Stamps: Happy Everything, Something to Say, Bow Wow
Ink: Basic Black, Pacific Point, Riding Hood Red
Paper: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Riding Hood Red, Whisper White, Good Morning Sunshine DSP
Accessories: Hexagon punch, circle punches, Scrap Pagerz Letter Template

Friday Flashback: Bodacious Bouquet
Happy Friday! I wrote this post from the wifi hotspot last night and it was a bit of a pain but I was BOUND AND DETERMINED to get this up because it's my birthday! Then sometime around midnight last night, the Internet returned--it's a birthday miracle! And to add to all that happy, today's featured stamp set is one of my all-time faves, Bodacious Bouquet. So let's take a peek through the archives!
I think I used a coordinating wheel on the left side of this card but I can't remember the name of it. The sentiment is from one of the All Year Cheer stamp sets.
This one's a newer creation and was on the Best Yet Friday Flashback.
This was one of my absolute favorite cards with this stamp set; the sentiment is from Polka Dots & Paisley.
I made this one for a Hawaiian-themed baby shower! The sentiment is from Warmest Regards.
Here's a tent topper card; birthday greeting from It's Your Birthday.
Another favorite, I think I'm one of the few people who *liked* Glorious Green. This one also features Happy Everything (another all-time fave) and Paisley.
An Okinawa scrapbook page : )
And a bold baby book layout; I really liked that primary color scheme and used it several times. These bold flowers just cry out for bold colors!
Haha! I love this layout, it was our first house in Okinawa. Don'tcha love the Indiana Jones-style letters?
So that's it for the Flashback, and it would have been longer if I'd posted every single thing I've ever made with Bodacious Bouquet but I picked my faves. So here's today's new card:
The original sketch had the banner on the top pointing down, but it just didn't quite work once I had everything else on the card front so I did a horizontal one instead. First time I've used Happy Watercolor, too! I chose some of my favorite colors for this card--Bermuda Bay, Elegant Eggplant, Strawberry Slush, Garden Green and Daffodil Delight. Quite the vivid bouquet.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed today's Friday Flashback, and have a great weekend!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Bodacious Bouquet, Happy Watercolor
Ink: Bermuda Bay, Elegant Eggplant, Strawberry Slush, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight
Paper: Bermuda Bay, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, retired Elegant Eggplant DSP, Attic Boutique DSP, Quatrefancy DSP
Accessories: Circle Framelits, Dimensionals

Friday Flashback: Stars & Swirls
Guess what? Today is my first blogiversary here at Snapdragon Stamps. Yay! With that in mind, I thought for today's Friday Flashback that it would be fun to feature the very first Stampin' Up! stamp set that I ever bought, Stars & Swirls. So sit back and relax with a cuppa if you so desire, because today's Flashback is going to be longer than most as I love this stamp set : )
You might guess from the name that this little stamp set has both stars and swirls in it, though I admit I use the stars more than the swirls. Like my mom, I'm a sucker for all kinds of papercrafty things featuring stars (and plaid, but probably not together). This one also features Happy Everything which is one of my all-time favorite sentiment sets.
Ok, so this one is old-old-old from not long after I started stamping and before I discovered sketch challenges so I only had like three layouts for cards : ) I do still love polished stone though...greeting from A Greeting for All Reasons.
It's a license plate! I thought it was cool for a Father's Day card. Letters from Well-Worn Alphabet & Numbers.
I think I made a bunch of these for stamp club not long after I became a demonstrator. Look, it opens up:
Fun, right? Other stamp sets used are Letterpress Alphabet, Swirling Stars jumbo wheel, and one of the All-Year Cheer sets (what, they blend together).
Here's one with the swirl! This layout also features my favoritest-ever scrapbook layout sketch. I love it so much that I have to try to limit myself to using it ONLY once in any given album.
More stars on a baby book! Other stamps from House of Haunts.
And here's a layout from the first-ever baby book I ever made; also features Star-Spangled Banner.
Here's some gold embossing on gold cardstock and some gold Pearl-Ex on the card base, and again a sentiment from AYC. I never much got into Pearl-Ex so I wasn't sad when SU! quit selling it. I think this might be the only time I used it...and the only reason I had any was because someone else gave it to me.
So that's it for the vault, here's today's new creation:
I used this week's SCS sketch and three of my favorite colors: Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green, and Raspberry Ripple. I quite like those three colors together, I'll have to try that again sometime.
Thanks for joining me for this week's special blogiversary Friday Flashback!
Supplies, last card only:
Stamps: Stars & Swirls, Happy Everything
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Garden Green, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White craft
