Friendship in Bloom

Howdy, folks!  Since I had Blossoms in Bloom on the brain from yesterday's card, I decided to ink it up again for today's card and this time I used the big flower stamp!

But I cut it up a bit :)  I am LOVING this stamp set; I didn't get it during the preorder but I saw so many beautiful cards with the stamp set and coordinating dies that I put it on my first order when the catalog went live.  Again, the colors in my photo aren't the most true to life, we're still totally socked in with clouds so that really doesn't help when I'm taking pictures of cards.

Love this week's color challenge from the Color Throwdown:

I used Flirty Flamingo and Coastal Cabana for my pink and aqua colors and sneaked in a bit of Pear Pizzazz for the leaves.  While I was making this card, Ryan was *supposed* to be in quiet time, but he kept popping into my craft room and somewhere in the chaos (because with Ryan, it's always chaos) I managed to SPILL my gold embossing powder ALL OVER EVERYWHERE!!!  It was such a mess.  I managed to get a good portion of it back in the container, but almost half of what spilled was unrecoverable.  No use crying over spilled embossing powder, am I right?

I thought the cut-apart flowers were perfect for this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

The idea popped in my head as soon as I saw the sketch yesterday and it would have been a very quick card if it hadn't been for Ryan's interruptions and the embossing powder mess.  But I'm happy with how it turned out!

Hope you have a great day, folks.  It's still dark and dreary here, so at least my card can be light and fun.  Cheers!

Healing Hugs

Mornin' y'all!  The hubs got home early from work yesterday, and when he got here, I was dithering between working in my craft room or doing some stitching.  He shooed me into my craft room for a bit and I can't say I'm sorry about that :)  I made a quick card and started on another scrapbook layout, and I still got a bit of stitching done after dinner so yay!  Here's my card:

I'm entering this in three challenges that I think were just made to be combined.  First up is the Global Design Project CASE the Designer challenge:

I used several elements from the inspiration card on my card: large floral image, yellow, sponging, the Stitched Nested Labels die, and the pair of rhinestone accents.  And look how well this pairs with the Fab Friday sketch:

It would be SUPER easy to quickly make a bunch of cards with this sketch and a stack of DSP, then choose a variety of sentiments.  I stamped the floral layer on my card, so it took a bit more time than doing a die cut of DSP, but I like that idea ;)

Last up is the Paper Players color challenge:

I really like these colors together and quite enjoyed playing with them.  I thought the yellow gingham background made for a nice cheery card, but it's got kind of a warm hug feel that's great for a get well card.  At least that's what it felt like to me!

Hope y'all have a great day.  Cheers!

Best Dressed Friendship

Mornin' y'all!  Surprise Sunday post...and a big surprise because Blogger has somehow gotten over its snit and is letting me upload new pictures again.  I know it's not anything I did to fix it, but yay!  So I got up early this morning and made a card before kiddo wanted to get up.

Alas, it was very hard to photograph, the embossing powder shows up better in real life.

I embossed the big flower from Beautiful Day with Shimmery White embossing powder and now there's glitter everywhere in my craft room :)

Happy I had the opportunity to play along on the challenge for this week's Freshly Made Sketch:

And the Color Throwdown:

I used Petal Pink and Purple Posy as my colors, with just a smidge of Soft Sea Foam for the leaf.

Well, the hubs has Ryan in the tub right now so maybe I can get a little work done in my craft room.  Getting back in there is helping with my mental health during quarantine so I need to figure out how to make that happen more when our schedule is so upended.  Cheers, y'all!
