Adobe Photoshop - The King of Graphics Programs Continued

The following are a couple more examples of how you can utilize Adobe Photoshop to isolate images and drop them into entirely different scenes. As you may know, it can be both challenging and rewarding to create entirely new structures by mirror imaging portions of the same image.

Adobe Photoshop - The King of Graphics Programs

With a background in printing, I have had the privilege of using Adobe Photoshop since its inception. It was a powerful program then and it is even more relevant now in the digital age of the twenty-first century. Obviously it is an exceptional tool for photographers. Combine Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom., and you have everything you need to retouch, photo-impose, color correct and add special effects with. Most colleges and Tech Schools offer classes in the nuances of Photoshop and how to become skilled in using it. If you cannot fit a class into your schedule, then online tutorials and books will assist you. After a few lessons or chapters, you will be able to take your everyday photos and design them into something extraordinary.. Here are a few examples:

Classic Cars

There is nothing more esthetically pleasing to the human eye as the lines, curves and details of an old car. One of my yearly priorities is to attend a classic car show, spend an afternoon browsing, absorbing the elegant style of the various models, then capture them through the lens eye. No doubt about it, automobiles are alluring. Here are a few examples of some classics from the past.

Mitzi has a wonderful way of presenting her blog material. Mitzi is also on twitter as DailyReflect.

3. We have two sons and one grandson
4. Born in Cleveland Ohio (Armpit of the world). Just kidding
5. Browns Fan for life

Savannah; Beautiful Lady of the South

In the summer of 1967 our family vacation destination was Miami Florida. My father, who had a knack for making unconventional trips, decided that we should forgo Interstate 75, (which was uncompleted at the time), and follow the winding coastal highway A1A to enjoy the scenic view of the ocean on our trip to the tip of Florida. So a family of six from Ohio were on their merry way. We caught up with the Atlantic Ocean in North Carolina , getting out to smell the Ocean air at Wilmington Beach, then followed that up with the small  beach towns of South Carolina  and beyond. Years earlier in history class I had read a little about the next city we were about to venture to, Savannah, GA. Established in 1733, one of the thirteen original colonies, spared by General Sherman during the Civil War. It was even mentioned in the movie: "Gone With The Wind" ! As we drove across the Savannah River on the old Talmadge Memorial toll bridge, I got out the vintage Super 8 movie camera and captured the crossing and took a panoramic shot of the city. Something reached out and grabbed me about that city on that particular day. The beauty, the southern charm, the dignity of that place even though it was the very first time I had been there. I was allured by the thought that it seemed I had walked back into a different time in history. We stayed only briefly to my disappointment and headed straight for Daytona Beach and finally Miami Beach.
Two years later in Atlanta Georgia I met a young lady from guess where? Savannah, Ga. After a couple of years and a few trips down south, I fell in love with her and the City that made such a first impression on me. Here we are, almost 40 years later. Still very much in love, but in another southern city. Every once in a great while I dust off  the old movie projector just to watch my footage of Savannah and think if I only knew where that bridge was taking me at the time!
I will be posting various photographs from the Beautiful City of the South -Savannah.
A collage of photos to start things out. Enjoy.

Doors Continued

Something else about doors . . .Life in general is full of right turns, left turns and doors we may choose to enter or not. What is beyond that door? Who lives there? Those have always been  curious questions in my mind. Doors can be inviting or formidable, Doors can rightly be opportunities waiting to happen.  The fact that you can go in or out of them is fascinating also. Oh well,Enjoy some more doors!

Doors

For some unknown reason, doors, shutters and windows have always been a favorite photographic subject of mine. The many different styles have color, texture and elements that make them unique and I imagine that is what draws my eye to them. I like to go to older downtown areas of big cities or even small towns because you never know what gem of a door you can capture through your lens eye.
