Dr. Yang Song is VP of Recommendation Research at Meta, where he leads research on large-scale recommendation systems. Prior to Meta, he served as Head of Video Recommendation and User Growth at TikTok, leading a team of approximately 400 researchers and engineers to advance TikTok's core recommender systems. Before TikTok, he was VP of Engineering at Kuaishou Technology (HK: 1024), overseeing recommendation modeling, data mining, and search. He has also held positions as Research and Engineering Manager in the Deep Dialogue group at Google AI, and as a researcher at Microsoft Research Redmond.
Dr. Song is an award-winning researcher with over 100 scientific publications. He is an active contributor to the research community, having served as General Chair, Program Chair, and Area Chair at premier venues including RecSys, WSDM, TheWebConf (WWW), CIKM, AAAI, ACM Multimedia, and IEEE Big Data.
