A Farewell Sketch: The Patchwork Man
The Patchwork Man Redux!
This is final rogue’s gallery Halloween seasonal monster sketch — and the last of the Myrant sketches that began the first week in January of this year.
Len Wein and Berni Wrightson‘s Swamp Thing original series take on Frankenstein’s Monster was Abby‘s pop, the put-upon Patchwork Man, and here’s my second take on the poor ol’ fella.
This original sketch measures 6 1/2″ x 10 1/2″, drawn with black pen, markers and white correctional pen on acid-free white board. This goes for $135 plus shipping — first to email me at msbissette@yahoo.com can open their own nursing home for monsters.
Per usual, first Myrant price is forever the best price — in a day or two, I’ll be taking this off its Myrant debut slot and moving it to the sketchstore archives and Comic Art Fans Gallery at a higher price. [Update 10/31/09: That’s now been done, and the price is at its new level here. Ah, well, despite my best effort, this bargain option yielded only marginal and occasional results.]
This also concludes the grand experiment with the Myrant sketch posts in this choice low-priced venue. Whether due to Facebook/Twitter overtaking blogging as a preferred vehicle or whatever, it’s clear at this juncture that Comic Art Fans Gallery is the sweet spot for those fishing for my work — and at the slightly higher pricing.
I’ve posted new art here every two-three days since January. I hope it’s been a worthwhile show! Though few comments are posted, I can see this has garnered a fair share of hits daily — and it’s the next-best thing to the old days of doing convention sketches, which won’t be happening again in my lifetime for me.
Later in November, I’ll launch a new experiment here, so keep your eyes peeled.
Thanks again for looking in here from time to time throughout 2009. Your interest, and the support provided by those who purchases sketches and art throughout the year, is very much appreciated, and hope I’ve kept a steady enough flow of eye-candy for those who do visit regularly.
This doesn’t mean I’m pulling the stitches on selling new and vintage artwork online — just that I’m moving the venue for the time being to the Comic Art Fans Gallery.
Keep in mind, though, this is a finite experiment, and time will come when the sketches and art won’t be available there, either.
That look of terror on the Patchwork Man reminds me of Glenn Beck describing one of those conspiracies that keeps him up at night.
