American Mary is Coming to Shudderfest

"Chris Hallock and I can now announce that we're screening AMERICAN MARY Friday October 26th as part of Shudderfest. I'm having trouble putting into words the joy just typing that last sentence brings me as it's my opinion that Jen Soska a
nd Sylvia Soska are an enormously talented duo that are going to set the horror world in its ear. Their sophomore feature has earned rave reviews after its debut at FrightFest 2012 in the UK and its US premiere at Fantastic Fest last month. We will be showing American Mary in the gorgeous performance space at the Somerville Theater.

American Mary stars Katherine Isabelle (Ginger Snaps) as a medical student who becomes increasingly broke and disenchanted with the surgical world she once admired. The allure of easy money sends Mary into the world of underground surgeries which ends up leaving more marks on her than her so called 'freakish' clientele.
We'll have our complete lineup and times posted later today but man oh man this is awesome news for horror fans in Boston." - Mike Snoonian, Shudderfest

Holy fucking shit balls on toast, Boston, AMERICAN MARY is coming to your town!! I am thrilled as all hell that the film is going to the very cool folks in Boston this October 26th.

More details coming, but be the first to know and tell all your cool friends that AMERICAN MARY is coming to town~!

Kool-Aid Man Style 'Oh Yeah' for American Mary

"A few years back twin terrors Jen and Sylvia Soska announced their arrival to the filmmaking world with their action packed, gore streaked exploitation flick Dead Hooker In A Trunk. Their debut developed a following in the underground due to the twins ability to craft funny engaging characters and take-no-prisoners attitude towards violence and mayhem. Their follow up American Mary doesn't walk through the door their debut opened-it bursts through the wall Kool-Aid Man style shouting 'Oh Yeah!' at top of its lungs in order to let the horror community know that there's a new pair of voices in town that are going to be reckoned with for years to come."

Ten of the Horribly Awesome New Faces of Horror

"There’s no shortage of pissing and moaning online regarding horror remakes and sequel trash. Those bemoaning the lack of original horror films just need to scratch the surface. Never mind the mainstream, there’s a litany of young and hungry film makers willing to scare the hell out of you. In no particular order, here are ten you need to keep an eye out on."
- Mike Snoonian, All Things Horror

Bis repetita placent (A little originality please)

My grade eight science teacher, Mr. Dy; not d-y-e or d-i-e as he liked to say, liked to throw latin into his lesson plan. It was unique and always had these twins hooked. The above latin being my personal favorite. It could be said that the fabulous Mike Snoonian, supporter and true lover of horror, also of All Things Horror, feels the same way about creativity in the horror genre. If you don't know Mike, get caught up, my dears, and see why we adore the gentleman so.

With originality and perhaps even the thought of a new wave of horror filmmakers in mind, we have this list from All Things Horror: Ten To Watch Out For-The New Faces Of Horror. Jen and I are honored to be included in this list, which includes fellow filmmakers that I am just loving the work of and some new faces that have me adding new flicks to my 'must see' list.

Gregg Holtgrewe - DAWNING
Bill Palmer - THE LIVING WANT ME DEAD
Devi Snively - TRIPPIN'
Maude Michaud - RED
Patrick Rea - NAILBITER
David Matthews - MURDERABILLIA
Elisabeth Fies - THE COMMUNE
Matt Saliba - DARK LOTUS
Matthew Garrett - BEATING HEARTS

Tired of the same films getting shoved down your throat by the big studios that have seemed to have lost their grasp on what audiences want? Want something original please? Look no farther than this list and thank Mr. Snoonian for putting us and these fine indie filmmakers in a neat line to get us and our work out there!

Nobody Puts Mary In The Corner...

AMERICAN MARY
hits the "Coming Soon Corner" on ALL THINGS HORROR courtesy of the wonderful writer, Mike Snoonian.

"Earlier this year we were lucky enough to screen the debut feature from Canada's Jen and Sylvia Soska. Delivering on the madcap exploits implied by its title, Dead Hooker in a Trunk boasted over the top violence akin to a live action adaptation of a Coyote versus Roadrunner cartoon.
Not a pair to rest on their laurels, the sisters are hard at work on their follow up American Mary.
" ~Mike Snoonian, All Things Horror

We're proud to be mentioned next to fellow femme fatale film maker, Maude Michaud, who has released a trailer for her new film, RED. Treat yourselves to a look at that beast HERE. You can thank us later.

All Things Horror continues to be All Things Awesome

Being one of the little guys (gals) out there, it truly means the world to us when we hear about people who fight the good indie fight and spread the word about our demented offspring aka film, DEAD HOOKER IN A TRUNK. All Things Horror has consistently been a huge supporter of dead hookers everywhere and, coincidentally, our film. Kenny Steven Fuentes had this to say...
"Last week, I recieved a phone call from an old friend.

"I just saw a movie listing for something amazing. I don't know anything about it, or what it is. But I need you to come with me. It's called Dead Hooker in a Trunk. And it's only five dollars."

On Wednesday, I found myself in the basement of the Somerville Theater handing over a five dollar bill for a film screening I knew nothing about.

"Hi. I'm here for Dead Hooker in a Trunk...?" my friend asked."

But don't be satisfied with that mere appetizer, feast on the main course.

Get the full film review HERE.

"Dead Hooker in a Trunk is a fantastic film." ~Kenny Steven Fuentes, All Things Horror

You know what, All Things Horror? YOU'RE pretty gosh darn fantastic yourselves. Blood soaked embraces your way!

Five Bucks Can Get You a Dead Hooker (in Boston)

Do you remember our friend Mike Snoonian from 'All Things Horror'? Go here for a refresher, but trust your friendly nieghbourhood twisted twins that he is incredibly rad. So rad, in fact, that if you are in the Boston area - thanks to him - can see 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk' for five bucks this September 1st. But that's not all. Five bucks usually can't get you a lot, but in this case, it gets a fucking sweet evening filled with rad films --

"All Things Horror is kicking of September with a positively insane lineup of movies. Our feature attraction comes to us from Canada. Maybe it's the easily available triple strong beer, but they've given us one demented thrill ride of a film in Dead Hooker in a Trunk. After a night of hard partying a pair of twin sisters and their friends wake up to find the spare tire is missing from the car, with the body of a dead hooker taking its place. What follows is a thrill ride of violence and mayhem which makes The Expendables look like a children's holiday special. Fans of 70's Grindhouse fare, Roger Corman flicks and beautiful women busting heads and kicking tons of ass will not want to miss this film.

We've also got three terrific short films. Side Effects shows what happens when an otherwise virtuous school girl resorts to pills in order to stay sharp for the SATS. If you only see one erotic tale of lesbian vampires using only dolls this year, make sure it's Taste of Flesh ,Taste of Fear. Finally, we have a local film Rubber Whore Hell rounding out the night. This is one of the more bizarre films of lust, betrayal and murder that we've come to love, and it features some sweet dance moves by a maniac in a rubber Halloween mask."

I have had the pleasure of seeing 'Side Effects' - the Audience Favorite winner at this past Viscera Film Fest - and 'Taste of Flesh, Taste of Fear' - another winner from Viscera - and these flicks are dark, fun, and a real viewing treat for you horror fans. Heck, drop ten bucks and share this event with a friend. Get your details here, girls and boys. Drop us a line after the show to let us know what you thought. We love to hear from you!

~Sylv

PS It's going to to be the 'All Things Horror' site's first anniversary the day before the screening! A very happy anniversary from us, keep up the wonderful, fucking awesome work. Oh, and for you Hooker fans, there will be giveaways and prizes to celebrate. Maybe you'll can get something hookeriffic!

All Things Horror and Awesome for Hooker

Did you ever see the Norm MacDonald film 'Dirty Work' - directed by the wonderful Bob Saget? We did. As a kid, there was this dead hooker in a trunk joke... and well, I guess it's left it's comical mark on us. As did the dead hooker in the mattress of 'The Misbehavers' in Robert Rodriguez's segment of 'Four Rooms'. Aw, dead hookers - always there when you need them.

It is evident that Mike Snoonian, of All Things Horror, has also seen 'Dirty Work' with his review of 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk' whimsically entitled 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk (doing Norm McDonald proud)'. But first, what is the All Things Horror site? Well, listen for a boo or two, girls and boys.

"All Things Horror is run by two friends who share a love of the taste of karo syrup, the smell of latex, and the sight of stupid teenagers making terrible decisions.

Head contributor Mike Snoonian has been putting off his first novel for this site. He promises you that his Vampires do not sparkle, because that would just be stupid. In his spare time he watch way too many horror movies and is obsessed with his cats. His wife would like to remind him not to make a mess.

Chris Hallock has worked on two feature films and a number of short films in the Boston area, as well as directed a New England-based horror film festival.

If you have any comments or suggestions about the site, would like to contribute as a columnist, would like to submit your work for review or have an event to promote, please contact us. If you want to trade links for your site, ditto. Send all email to allthingshorroronline@yahoo.com"

Mike certainly know his horror movies. As a matter of fact, he knows a lot about all sorts of rad movies. What did he think of 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk'? Read his radcore review here. You'll be glad that you did!

Also, are you in Boston? Would you like to see 'Dead Hooker in a Trunk' for yourself? That's good, because there is an upcoming Boston screening! Stay tuned for delicious details.
