Lucky in Love

I can't believe February is near over already!?! The fourth and final week of competition at Treasured Scrapbooking ends tomorrow night. Our challenge this week was to use one of three clichés about love (Love is Blind, Love Stinks or Lucky in Love) and create a layout showcasing fabric and sewing. So here it is. I'm really pleased with all of the work I've done for this contest, win or loose. Thanks for such a great competition and good luck to all!

Week in Photos

Feb. 20th: Callie posing for the camera
Feb. 21st: I went to check on Julia while she was napping and this is how she was sleeping.

Feb. 22nd: Someone loves "keekees".

Feb. 23rd again: Watching Daddy drive down the driveway.

Feb. 24th: Learning to skate.

Feb. 25th: Proof that Callie does have a good hair day...okay maybe hour.

Feb. 25th again: Julia has already grown into size 9 months. This is an outfit she got for Christmas from Nanny and Grampie T.

I Love New York

How much can two people see in New York city in two and a half days?

Time Square: Brett could not imagine that the first photo I would take in NYC would be of some pigeons in Time Square.

Grand Central Station: I had to include this one because of the blurred yellow taxi in the photo. How appropriate.

I have no idea what this building is. It is across from the Flatiron.

Rockefeller Centre: This was my favourite place because of the amount of things we saw here. We went to the top of this builidng and saw the city. The rink is below as is the area where the Today show is filmed.

This is a photo of the crystal tree topper used on the Christmas tree in Rockefeller centre every year.

We saw a taping of the Today show and the Globe Trotters were interviewed and did some tricks.

Empire State Building: This is a view from the Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Centre.

Central Park

Chrysler Building

We also took a ride on the Staten Island Ferry and saw the city from the water and the Statue of Liberty. China Town, Little Italy, Soho and Greenwich also made the list. We had no problem sleeping at night after all the walking we did.

Weekend with Grammie & Grampie

The girls had a great weekend with Grammie and Grampie while we were away. Callie learned a new word, "Bumpie" and kept Grammie running. Julia got over being strange before we left and enjoyed herself, too.

THANKS, Mom & Dad!!

Melt My Heart

Here is my week 2 submission for the contest at Treasured Scrapbooking. The challenge was to use three photos, a minimum of three hearts all of different textures and a sentiment from candy hearts as the title. I think this is my new all time favourite layout. The photo does not do this one justice, unfortunately.

Rules of Engagement

I started another 6 week contest over at Treasured Scrapbooking. The week one challenge was to tell a love story and use a romantic movie or song title somewhere on the layout. After much thought, this is what I came up with.

Journaling reads:

Rules of Engagement:

-Choose the perfect ring.

-Hide the ring with other Christmas gifts.

-Make dinner reservations at the "Top of the Town".

-Act like everything is normal at dinner.

-Go back to the apartment to "open Christmas gifts".

-Ignore the phone while she successfully guesses the contents of the first two gifts.

-Try not to look nervous.

-While she opens the last gift, recite the speech you've been practising all week.

-After she says, "yes", answer the phone that won't stop ringing.

-Pass along the news of a 2nd engagement - her sister!

I love crops!

This weekend I went to a crop hosted by the local scrapbook supply store, Paws on Scrapbooking. This is the first time I've scrapped outside of the house since Scrap Gala 2006!?! I got five layouts done and had a wonderful time catching up with Tina and meeting people from the message board. Here are some of my layouts.

Potty Time

Last Tuesday, Callie started to use the potty. Over the past few days, some have been better than others but she goes on the potty at least once each day. This morning she woke up dry and then used the potty after breakfast. It has been the best day so far with even a small attempt at # 2. She finished in her diaper a few hours later, but it's a big step in the right direction just the same.

Moving Subject

As grainy as this photo is, there is something about it that I like.

A Couple of Layouts

IMAGE REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION

This heart, made entirely of paper scraps, was inspired by a piece I saw in the winter issue of Canadian Scrapbooker. I love this magazine. It is my goal to one day be published with them.

This one was made almost entirely of Creative Café products, the February sponsor at Scrap Lovers.
