Have you been wondering...
...WHERE IN THE WORLD I HAVE BEEN???
I noticed last night that I have only posted four times this month!?! That is absolutely unheard of for me. While I won't deny my creative projects have slowed significantly this summer, I do have a good reason (or two). Check out these photos.
We always plant a garden but NEVER, EVER have we had such a fruitful one as we've had this year. We give it the odd watering and weeding but really that is about it. This summer, it rained for the entire month of July. Well, let me tell you what that can do for string beans (and the weeds LOL). I canned four pails of beans this year. Yes, FOUR. The fifth pail we gave away. I was sick of beans at that point.
My parents also have a monster garden every year and they gave me two crates of green tomatoes. I made a huge batch of salsa (recipe courtersy of Amber) and pizza sauce is cooking as I type (recipe courtesy of Ali). There is still one more crate still to ripen!?!
I almost always do a few batches of jam. I love to put it in gift baskets at Christmas time. This year I did rhubarb, strawberry rhubarb and blueberry. I also thought I'd give apple butter a try. I found a super, simple crock pot recipe from Southern Plate.
Last but certainly not least are the Lady Ashburnam pickles (otherwise known as the BEST mustard pickles around) my Grandmother is famous for. This year I actually had cucumbers of my own to make this batch.
So there it is. My adventures in gardening and home canning this summer. I'm thinking it's a good thing to stock up this year because I doubt I'll be doing this next summer with a young baby in the house.
On the creative side of things, I'm working on my October work for myStamp BOX already and I also have a page almost complete with this photo. Look for it sometime next week.
Cheers!

Some Publication News
I just got a request from Simply Handmade for a Valentine's Day mini album. I also got 3 pages picked up for the spring issue of Scrapbooking & Beyond. I am just thrilled as this will be my first time in both of these magazines.

Guest Designer @ Upsy Daisy Designs
Supplies: Acrylic (Clear Scraps), Stamp (Upsy Daisy Designs), Trim (Websters), Baubles (Stamping Bella), Tree (Carolee's Creations), Gold Embossing Powder (Artful Stamper)
It was my absolute pleasure to guest design for Upsy Daisy Designs this month. This tree ornament was made with the Girl Friends Stamp set and a piece of acrylic from Clear Scraps. The purse album on my blog header is also a project made for them. To see the full reveal, check it out HERE.
EDITED TO ADD:
Look for this project in the Winter, 2010 issue of Canadian Scrapbooker.

ABC Blog Hop
Welcome to the ABC Blog Hop with myStamp BOX . You should have arrived from Cathy's blog. If you have just happened upon my blog today, you may want to head to the start of the blog hop, the myStamp BOX blog.
I have created a PARTY banner to showcase two different alphabet fonts, Tall Outlines and Casual Upper. I used miscellaneous pieces of acrylic from Clear Scraps as my base.

On this piece, I repeatedly stamped the letter 'A' around the acrylic frame using the Casual Upper set and Staz-On ink.

On the other pieces, I stamped the letters onto patterned paper, cut them out and mounted them on my shapes with foam squares.
The cupcake is frosted with Liquid Appliqué. I puffed it up a bit with my heat gun, added the baubles with Helmar glue and then left it overnight to dry.
Here is a photo of the finished piece.
Supplies: Acrylic (Clear Scraps), Stamps (myStamp BOX), Chipboard (Riff Raff, Creative Café), Ribbon (Chatterbox, Making Memories), Felt (Sassafras Lass), Dangles (7 Gypsies), Wood (Kaiser), Paper (October Afternoon), Button (Jenni Bowlin), Baubles (Stamping Bella), Flowers (Prima, Sassafras Lass)
Yes, there is a prize!!
TWO brand new stamp sets being released this month are up for grabs! So leave a comment on all the blog posts and then go back to the mSB blog and tell us what your favourite project was along the way for a chance to win! Have fun!

This cute little lady bug is a piece of chipboard from Riff Raff. I covered the pieces in Staz-On ink, embossed the wings in red glitter embossing powder by American Crafts (Zing) and then glossed the entire surface with Glossy Accents.
