I Remember

Today's page showcases the lovely "Afternoon Tea" line by Scrap Within Reach.  Our theme this month is "I remember" so I chose to make a page about how quickly time has passed since my second girl was born.

Supplies:  Paper, Rub-Ons (Scrap Within Reach), Gems (Prima), Cameo (Websters Pages), Trims (Maya Roads), Lace (Dollarama), Letters (October Afternoon), Crochet Flower (Jolee)

The pink lace you see here is yet of another of my Dollarama finds.  Love that store!

I have all kinds of Fall and Halloween altered items that I am just itching to share with you, the first appearing on the 1st of October.  Be sure to check back then.

Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Canada Day

So I might be a few months late for this one, but I finally got a Canada Day page done.   I used the new "Avalanche" line by Upsy Daisy.  Yes, that is the winter collection!  Funny thing with this line is, it is so very versatile that you could use it for most any theme you want and noone would be the wiser.

"Happy Canada Day"

Supplies:  Paper, Trims & Brad (Upsy Daisy), Letters (Websters Pages, Scenic Route), Leaf Gem & Bead Letters (Dollarama), Stamps (myStamp BOX), Floss (Karen Foster)

Journaling Reads:
You two were so excited to put on  your matching outfits and "go to Canada Day".  Though you don't fully understand what Canada is, you know it is cause for celebration.  July 1, 2010.

Hanging Tough

Cindy guessed it!  My favourite myStamp BOX stamp set is indeed the cloud set, "Wishing You Sunshine", and I used it to create today's layout.

"Hanging Tough"

Supplies:  All supplies My Little Shoebox except ribbon (Making Memories), Brads (Bazzill), Felt (Queen & Company), Stamps (myStamp BOX)

Here's a detail shot of my favourite stamped clouds.

This photo is just too cute not to include here.  My daughter wanted me to take some pictures of her on the rings.  Little did she know I'd get one like this!

This is my last official myStamp BOX post.  I complete my 1 1/2 years with them the end of this month.  I can't say enough about how much I've enjoyed this opportunity and can't thank Bettina enough for the pleasure of working for her and her team.  Not to worry though.  You haven't seen the last of my work with their products.  My favourite sets sit on the corner of my desk, where they will stay.

Have a wonderful weekend.  Look for a new Upsy Daisy page on Monday and I may even sneak a few stamped leaves in there!
Cheers!

Autumn Splendor

Today I am sharing with you my first projects designed for Best Creation Inc.  I used the new "Autumn Splendor" collection and love it so much you will be seeing more projects from this line.

Supplies:  Paper, Chipboard Alpha (Best Creation Inc.), Flowers (Autumn Leaves, Queen & Co.), Page Pebble (Prima), Bling (Zva Creative), Button (American Crafts), Trim (Pink Paislee, Dollarama, Maya Roads)

I love using chipboard letters, but sometimes I find it difficult when I have several words in my title to balance it all out as the fonts are usually on the larger side.  On this page, I opted for a banner to help achieve the right scale of the "for you" relative to the word "flower".  I also like to mix things up a little by substituting pictures for letters like I did here with the cut flower.  It also relates back to the theme of the page.

This next project is a fun little back to school themed card.

Supplies:  Paper (Best Creation Inc.), Feltie (Basic Grey), Stamps (myStamp BOX)

That's all for today.  Look for more Best Creation projects before the month is out.  In the meantime, I have a My Little Shoebox page to share later this week and I used my favourite myStamp BOX set on it.  Does anyone know which one that is?

Three

Supplies:  Paper (Prima, Girl's Paperie, Creative Imaginations), Chipboard (Inque Boutique, Magistical Memories), Flower (Bazzill), Leaves (Prima), Pearls (Zva Creative), Doily (Little Yellow Bicycle), Ribbon (Making Memories), Letter Beads (Dollarama), Custom Epoxy & Buttons (Epiphany Crafts), Bingo Card & Ticket (Jenni Bowlin)

Design Notes:  The ribbon flower was super simple to make.  Just loop a length of ribbon back and forth until you have the desired number of petals and then put a stitch through the center to hold it.  No bulky knots on this one. :)  This way it is easily topped with another flower.

I used my Epiphany Crafts shape tools and created three different and unique custom shapes on this page.  The epoxy heart above was made with a Hambly transparency.  If you check the previous photo, you will notice a custom heart button.  Below is another custom epoxy, this time made with specialty paper.  The embossed design and shimmer shows right through the epoxy and makes a one of a kind embellishment for my page.  You can see it better if you click on the image to enlarge it.

I journaled around the perimeter of the shaped paper a bunch of different little tidbits about my daughter at the age of three.

Next up, I've got some Best Creation work to show you using their beautiful fall line so be on the lookout for that.  Until next time, have a wonderful day!

Catching up on some summer photos

These first photos are some of my most favourite summer photos of the baby.  She has the most contagious grin.  It is impossible not to smile when you see this face.

Supplies: Paper (Fancy Pants), Chipboard (Inque Boutique, GCD Studios), Felt Flower (Queen & Co.), Custom Epoxy Shapes (Epiphany Crafts), Pearls (Kaisercrafts)

The epoxy flower centers you see here were made with my handy dandy Epiphany Crafts shape tools.  The chipboard flower originally had a black button in the center which really didn't go with my page so I took it off and made a custom one from striped paper.

The XL white chipboard pieces are part of a 12x12 chipboard shape set from Inque Boutique that I have had for years.  I wish I had more of it!

The next page makes me smile as well.  It is a fun little page of my second girl acting silly.  She loves to dress up and this one day she put on the garb you see here and asked me to take her photo.  I'm quite certain those glasses have never been on right side up once this summer and the hat she is wearing belongs to the baby.  Too funny!

Supplies:  Paper (Fancy Pants), Felt (Prima), Letters (American Crafts), Custom Heart Button (Epiphany Crafts), Transparency (Hambly)

I put more of Epiphany Crafts' shape tools to work on this page.  The heart you see is a large heart button that I made with a Hambly transparency and my button studio tool.  It really gives a neat look using clear on clear.

I have had this felt clothing on my desk all summer and finally put it to use.  I had originally thought I'd make a mini album with the same title as this page.  I just might yet.  Who knows.

In the meantime, I've got some Best Creation pages in the works and hopefully a My Little Shoebox page too.  2 Peas has some great vendor challenges on right now:  Fancy Pants, Maya Roads and My Little Shoebox.  One down, two to go.  Who knows. I may even get to all three.

Hugs Welcome

I really love "The Cog" die cut from the Industrial Park line by Scrap Within Reach but since I don't have any boys, I wasn't really sure I would get much use out of it.  Then the girls decided to take a mud bath one afternoon and my first cog die cut page was born.  After that, I figured that would probably be it until last night.  I was shuffling around some paper while working on my assignment and this page came to life.  I still can't believe how this die cut works so well with such a feminine page.  I guess this just goes to show that nothing really is as gender specific as one may think.

Supplies:  Paper, Journaling Card, Trim, Stickers & Rub-Ons (Scrap Within Reach), Letters (Prima, Jenni Bowlin), Flower & Pearl Flourishes (Prima), Border Punch (Fiskars), Acrylic Flourish (Magistical Memories), Ticket (Making Memories), Pearls (Kaisercraft)

If you look carefully, you will see an acrylic flourish that forms the base of the flower cluster below the photo.  This beautiful piece is by Magistical Memories and it is the first of their clear pieces that I have worked with.  I really love the intricate design and will definitely use these again.  You can get another view of it in the next shot.  As a side note, if you are interested in getting published they have a great publication compensation incentive.

This month, Scrap Within Reach is holding a sketch contest on the blog.  You have until the end of the month to submit an entry.  Make sure you cruise on over and check it out.  There is a great prize up for grabs that I would love to see one of my blog readers win.  Good luck and have a wonderful day!

Thank You Card Set

I love it when a line of paper has at least one sheet that has all kinds of fun elements that can be fussy cut to create custom embellishments.  This sheet from the "Home Sweet Home" line by Upsy Daisy is perfect for this sort of thing.

By simply removing individual elements from this page, you can create something like this:

Supplies: Paper & Rub-ons (Upsy Daisy), Ribbons & Trim (Making Memories),  Cardstock (Bazzill)

Flowers cut from this same sheet were used to embellish this page:
-Life's Most Precious Gifts

In other news, we are starting a whole new chapter here today with my oldest daughter starting kindergarten.  I'm ready. She's ready.  It's just the whole unknown of the first day and a new routine that we need to get use to.  Wish us luck.  I'm sure it's only the beginning of many wonderful things.

Totally Zonked

The page I have to share with you today uses one of my favourite Lily Bee lines (Hello Sunshine) with Epiphany Craft's round shape tool.

Supplies:  Paper (Lily Bee, Bo Bunny), Letters (My Little Shoebox, Creative Imaginations), Baubles (Stamping Bella), Shape Tool (Epiphany Crafts)

There are so many neat little patterns on the papers of this line that I couldn't resist making several custom epoxy shapes for this page, like this one:

...and these...

Journaling reads:
This proves that you could fall asleep A-N-Y-W-H-E-R-E!!
Julia on the boat, 2010

That's all for today. Look for some cards early in the week.

Until next time,
Tracey
