Like many of you this evening, THOIA is also dressin' up to paint the town orange 'n black (and red) with costumes and candy and all kinds of wicked Witches' Sabbat shenanigans. Now where did I put that sacrificial dagger, anyways? And oh, look at 'ol Norman over there, hookin' up with the absolute purrrrfect girl of his screams-- err, dreams, via the April 1952 issue of Suspense #17! She will most certainly have a bone or two to pick clean with him before the night is over! But first up, let's do what everybody loves the most on a night like this, and that's playing a spooky prank on an unsuspecting victim! Yesss, hee-hee, we've got our sights set on someone in particular-- let's just hope we can actually pull it off without a horrible hitch, --from the April '54 issue of Shocking Mystery Cases #58. Everyone have a great holiday, and Mr. Karswell hopes you all enjoyed this month of petrifyin' posts. See you in November for lots rots more-- HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Deathmask for the Living
We're less than a week away from the big day, and if you haven't popped on over to your local Halloween vendor yet, then you still have a little time to get yourself that perfect mask and costume! Perfect that is, unless you go here... from the May - June 1977 issue of The Unexpected #179.

The Murder Masquerade!
We're halfway to Halloween again already, and typically on this day (aka Walpurgisnacht) I tend to feature posts themed a little more on the witchier side of things. But since this great Mack Martin: Private Investigator tale from the March 1949 issue of Super-Mystery Comics V8 #4 takes place during a costumed masquerade party, I think it still fits the holiday bill nicely. It's a super fun, super duper mystery of the highest caliber, with an assortment of diabolical suspects all dressed as Death itself! There's plenty of thrills, chills, furious fisticuffs action, and laugh out loud dialog too, along with some superb artwork from ever reliable Rudy Palais --who also created that great cover design (FYI: the added mummy themed cover at the end of the post remains uncredited.) I hope everyone enjoyed this month of posts, and I promise that May will be even more morbid than ever! Stay tombed...

Cult of Killers!
Who's ready for a heapin' fistful of more crime horror? This time our "Monday Murdering" comes via the Feb. '53 issue of Wanted Comics #52, and Bill Woolfolk delivers yet another whip-smart crackin' script for Harry Anderson to beautifully load-up with cloaked cult kooks, smokey opium dens, swirling dancers, and dead duck dames; in particular, one truly disturbing hanging aftermath panel. So grab your black bandit masks, it's time to stop a couple'a cold-blooded, crazed killers on the loose! PLUS, another juicy John Buscema cover too!

The Hounds of Horror!
Time for another petrifyin' installment of Plastic Man, this month's "Spotlight Character" vs. the super duper natural, and like the previous Plas entry HERE, this tale also comes from the January 1953 issue of Plastic Man #39. Fun stuff as ever, with all the great artwork and Bill Woolfolk writing you've come to expect from this classic series. And if that big 'ol loomin' full moon on nearly every page below doesn't get you into the Halloween spirit, --ya better check your pulse!
