Meyhem Lauren Joins Force with Madlib & DJ Muggs for Singles "Fresh Out The Water" & "Wild Salmon" from Champagne for Breakfast (Soul Assassin Records)

Madlib x Meyhem Lauren x DJ Muggs - "Fresh Out The Water" music video still (SOURCE: YouTube) "Long story short, I was working on an album with [DJ] Muggs and I was working on an album with Madlib. When all three of us ended up in the same room, we started playing songs from each project and immediately realized that we should make a collaborative album. The other two projects are completed and still coming out in the very near future, but the first thing on the agenda is MEYHEM x MUGGS x MADLIB's CHAMPAGNE FOR BREAKFAST dropping on April 7, 2023..." Meyhem Lauren posted on his personal Facebook page Thursday morning. And we can fully attest, this pretty much echoes the same sentiment Meyhem told us when we interviewed him for UK-based publication GrownUpRap late last year. When we asked Mey, "What do you have planned for us next?" he replied, "Meyhem/Madlib LP, Meyhem/DJ Muggs LP, Meyhem/Harry Fraud LP, Meyhem/Buckwild LP, and a few comp...

Bandcamp Friday Special: NAUTILUS Share House of Pain "Jump Around" Glueset Remix Featuring Luvit, Flip, Spax & MC Yinka (Oonops Drops)

Lets be completely honest, most people of a certain age would have first heard House of Pain's infectious hit "Jump Around" within the opening scenes of Robin Williams' 1993 blockbuster smash, Mrs. Doubtfire. And, I meam, who doesn't love that blaring introductory horn sample, high-pitched squealing, and braggadocious rhymes from House of Pain's Everlast & Danny Boy O'Connor and scratches from DJ Lethal (later of Limp Bizkit!) It's without a doubt one of our favorite 90's oddball Hip-Hip selections and a must for any Irish/St. Patrick's Day-themed playlist. House of Pain were initially active from 1991-96, went their seperate ways, and embarked on solo careers, but have reunited multiple times over the years namely 2010-11 and 2017 and even briefly as part of Hip-Hop super-group La Coka Nostra. Jump Around / Rokucho by Nautilus / Anna Sato & Toshiyuki Sasaki For the 25th anniversary of "Jump Around" back in 2018, DJ Mugg...

Cookin' Soul Employs A Host of Action Bronson Deepfakes for "KARATE FREES" Music Video & Bandcamp Single (Cookin' Soul Records)

Let it be known on-record: Action Bronson is easily one of our favorite emcees! Maybe, it's his zaniness, charisma, orsharp-tonged emceeing skills, love for food, natural wine, wrestling, and obscure 90's films, next-level sample selection, or propensity for randomly bustin' out a backflip. In addition to his emceeing skills, Bronson is an acclaimed chef, television personality, and actor on the rise; he has his own food/travel show on VICE, F*CK, THAT'S DELICIOUS! and has appeared on-screen in Game Over, Man! The Irishman, and, most recently, The King of Staten Island. However, maybe, most amazingly, during Quarantine, thanks to his close friend and personal trainer, Dave Paladino (@davepfit) has lost upwards of 100 pounds! Bam Bam Bronsolino, as he's often called, released his most recent amazingly-titled album, Only for Dolphins , during Quarantine, as well, on Loma Vista Recordings/Caroline International. Yes, this now means Action Bronson AND Marilyn Mans...

DJ Muggs Recruits Everlast, Damian Marley & 'Special Guest' Meyhem Lauren for Re-recorded House of Pain "Jump Around" (25-Year Remix)

"I did this beat in my aunt's garage... before I gave the beat to Everlast ... I tried to give it to Ice Cube , B-Real , and Special Ed an' they all passed on it," DJ Muggs told Genius concerning his beat, which would ultimately, end up being House of Pain 's 1992 break-out hit, "Jump Around." House of Pain 's initial incarnation was active between 1991-96 and has re-formed a number of times over the past 26 years, both as part of 2004 est. Hip-Hop super-group La Coka Nostra and Cypress Hill -helmed music and graphic arts collective, Soul Assassins . As legend has it, DJ Muggs approached his Cypress Hill bandmates, who passed on his Bob & Earl 's "Harlem Shuffle" -flipping instrumental, but suggested he pitch it to their "brother band," House of Pain . "We were like, 'give it to the white boys,'" Cypress Hill emcee Sen Dog recounted to Mike "DJ" Pizzo during a 2016 interview for cue...
