Current & Former Members of Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Norma Jean & Kid Gorgeous Form Better Lovers & Share "30 Under 13" Single (SharpTone Records)

Better Lovers (CREDIT: James Hartley) As you may recall, early 2022 ushered in the break-up of Buffalo, New York Metalcore/Hardcore Punk behemoth Every Time I Die (ETID.) In the media and across their various personal and band social media accounts, ETID's Jordan Buckley, Andy Williams, Stephen Micciche & Clayton Holyoak were seemingly pitted against one-time ETID frontman and Jordan's own brother, Keith Buckley. Buckley, Williams, Micciche & Holyoak appeared to all be working on a new project together (with a then-unannounced new singer) and Keith Buckley seemed to be cooking up something of his own. It seemed to be a messy legal dispute and an unfortunate demise for one of the sub-genres' greatest bands. Just yesterday, we got news of the sheer existence of one of those new post-ETID projects. Better Lovers, a newly-formed band featuring vocalist Greg Puciato, guitarists Jordan Buckley & Will Putney, drummer Clayton "Goose" Holyoak, and bassist...

3 Feet High & Rising: Raleigh Rock "N" Roll Outfit Thirsty Curses Share "Nothing Really Matters" Single (Mash-up Music Video)

Thirsty Curses is back with a new single and companion music video for "Nothing Really Matters," which dropped last week from the band's forthcoming album. The music video features a mash-up of two songs from their forthcoming album, which conveys the stylistic diversity of Thirsty Curses. Thirsty Curses is an eclectic Rock "N" Roll outfit based out of Raleigh, North Carolina. Thirsty Curses' material draws from numerous genres including Punk, Folk, Country, and Grunge and explores lyrical themes ranging from the existential to the absurd. Thirsty Curses' songs are both impassioned and sardonic, comical and foreboding. The two songs heard within Thirsty Curses' "Nothing Really Matters'" music video echoes something to the effect of Guns N' Roses meets Every Time I Die with a bit of Scissor Sisters-style "campy" piano bar cabaret mixed in, for good measure. As YES! Weekly wrote, "Thirsty Curses make Rock "...

Radical-era Every Time I Die (CREDIT: Michael Watson) Buffalo-based Hardcore heroes Every Time I Die [ETID] have just announced their highly-anticipated ninth studio album, Radical , out October 22nd, via Epitaph. "'Post-Boredom" was the first song I ever wrote that gave me the feeling of real truth," explains vocalist Keith Buckley. "I wasn't hiding any secret confessions in metaphors; I was very much fed up with living an...

Two Minutes to Late Night Shares Music Videos for Every Time I Die & Cave In's Covers of Each Other's "Youth Overrided" & "Moor" (Splitsville Livestream)

Ever since this blasted COVID-19/Coronavirus-related pandemic started what feel like eons ago, Two Minutes to Late Night (2M2LN) have been assembling and recording a bunch of quarantine "bedroom" covers with a rotating cast of all-star Punk/Hardcore/Metal musicians. Creators Jordan Olds AKA Gwarsenio Hall & Drew "Hollywood" Kaufman have recorded and released something like 38 such super-covers. All of these have been made with the support of their fans, via Patreon, which helps to compensate out-of-work musicians still taking part within these fun videos through these trying times. Just this past January, 2M2LN launched a new socially distant/remotely-recorded web-series called Splitsville. Its first installment was a livestream event whenin, just as it sounds, we got a virtual split: Every Time I Die covering a Cave In song and Cave In returning the favor and covering an Every Time I Die song. Again, that all took place back on January 29, 2021 and it wa...

Guts of The Ice - An Exploration of "Puck" Rock/Hockey-core #12: Hockey-centric REVHQ FUN FACTS 2010-17 (Revelation Records)

Revelation Records' G.I. Joe Promo (SOURCE: David "Igby" Sattanni) Not entirely unlike Wrestle/Wrassle Rap or Basketball Rap, there's, apparently, a whole sub-genre of hockey-themed Punk/Hardcore—oftentimes, referred to as "Puck" Rock or Hockey-core. Yes, I've been a die-hard fan of Punk/Hardcore for 15+ years and I, too, only first heard about Puck Rock within the last few weeks. Although, once I started diggin' around, I discovered about 10-15 bands at the forefront; this was, then, gradually narrowed down to 10 "front-line" bands, which will be chronicled here over the course of coming weeks. The "top-scoring" bands we selected include: Crippled Youth, SLAPSHOT, The Hanson Brothers/Nomeansno, Two Man Advantage, The Boils, D.O.A. THE ZAMBONIS, Pansy Division, The Hextalls, and THE RAMOMS' "Gritty Is A Punk" flexi-disc. We sent out a short 6-question interview form to all of the aforementioned bands, received some...

"First emerging and playing two tiny shows in August 2012, plus, Reading & Leeds Festival, Möngöl Hörde released one of 2014's most twisted and ferocious albums with their self-titled debut, through Xtra Mile Recordings," explains Möngöl Hörde's Bandcamp page. Möngöl Hörde recently released their first new material tog...
