Bad Blood (CREDIT: MArk Miller) We've been hearing rumblings about a new Hardcore/Punk super-group from Scott Vogel (Buried Alive, Cinderblock, Despair, Fadeaway, Slugfest, S.O.S., TERROR, WORLD BE FREE) for at least a couple months now... "hol' up, hol' up, hol' up;" nah, scratch that, actually! Scott Vogel is part of a new Hardcore/Punk super-group behemoth powerhouse called Bad Blood. KILL YOUR IDOLS Guitarist Gary Bennett Discusses Upcoming Split with Rule Them All, Forthcoming Full-length & All Things Long Island Hardcore (The Witzard Interview)

Gary W. Bennett, II (GRAPHIC: Ernie Parada for Hellgate Industries) "Doing split records with other bands is commonplace within the Punk, Hardcore, Metal, Indie, and Underground scenes, but for KILL YOUR IDOLS, it's been part of our tradition since day one. We've done splits with Fisticuffs, Full Speed Ahead, The Nerve Agents, Voorhees, Good Riddance, Crime In Stereo, Modern Life Is War, Poison Idea, and 7Seconds. Just writing this and reading it back to myself still blows our minds after all these years... how did we measure up to be able to share a piece of vinyl with these great, legendary bands? That's the beauty of Hardcore music. There's no competition here and we all help each other. That brings us to our split with Rule Them All on Flatspot Records. Rule Them All is among a new crop of Long Island Hardcore [LIHC] & Punk bands that measure up; that will carry the torch for the scene and keep it alive, whether we stick around or not." "Band...

3 Feet High & Rising: Australian Hardcore Newcomers SPEED Share 2020 FLEX Digital/Flexi-disc 7-inch EP (Flatspot/Last Ride Records)

SPEED's 2020 Flex (CREDIT: Jay Wennington) SPEED are an Australian Hardcore band and new signees to Baltimore-based Flatspot Records. SPEED's line-up consists of mmebers only known as Jem, Dennis, Aaron, Joshua "Josh," and Kane with little else widely known. However, a press release explains, "the majority of SPEED's members are of Southeast Asian descent; drawing strength from its members' diverse cultural perspectives, SPEED makes it a point to stand up, not only against racism and xenophobia, but, also, the toxic masculinity and gender prejudices that have crept their way into Hardcore." SPEED have only been around for a few short years, but produce a very unique brand of pummeling 90's-reminiscent Metallic Hardcore. SPEED's Old School Hardcore sound evokes comparisons to greats, such as Madballs, Biohazard, and Agnostic Front. Last year, SPEED released their debut collection on Australian imprint Last Ride Records , a 5-song demo simply...

It does have a bit of an underlying Thrash Metal vibe, co...

Following a self-titled 2017 DEMO EP and critically-acclaimed creature of habit EP (2018) TYPECASTE have returned with their third consecutive EP entitled BETWEEN LIFE . Late last month, world-renown Heavy Metal magazine, KERRANG! ran an exclusive premiere of pummeling BETWEEN LIFE EP track, "Traverse," and now, The Hard Times & Pure Noise Records' HARD NOISE has run their own "ALBUM PREMIERE" of the full 4-track EP. Although, it clocks in at less than 12 minutes total, BETWEEN LIFE really is a skull-crusher, honestly, more so indebted to Metal/Metalcore than...
