Brian Fallon Shares Single "You Have Stolen My Heart" from Third Solo Full-length Local Honey (Lesser Known Records/Thirty Tigers)

CREDIT: Kelsey Hunter Ayres New Jersey's own Gaslight Anthem make/made a very specific brand of Heartland Rock-indebted Punk/Hardcore; the kind of music that makes you wanna slick your hair back with some pomade, throw on your favorite leather jacket and Chucks, and go drag race some hot rods down on Main Street... Since going on an "indefinite hiatus" during Summer 2015, The Gaslight Anthem briefly reunited for a 2018 tour in honor of the 10th anniversary of their second album, The '59 Sound , however, the future of the band is currently unknown. Guitar and bass guitar players Alex Rosamilia & Alex Levine formed X Squared Productions together; drummer Benny Horowitz currently makes music as part of Mercy Union , Wax Bottles, and Antarctigo Vespucci and co-hosts The Tune-Up & Going Off Track Podcasts . Frontman Brian Fallon is currently a member of both The Horrible Crowes and Molly & The Zombies , as well as his touring band, Brian Fallon & ...

Brian Fallon & The Howling Weather Return with "Forget Me Not" Performance Clip from Upcoming Album SLEEPWALKERS (Island Records)

I'll never forget seeing The Gaslight Anthem at The Mann Center 's Skyline Stage in South Philly on a warm September 2014 night with my then-girlfriend Caroline . It was one of the first 10 dates of a 40-date jaunt across North America and Europe behind their latest album, Get Hurt , which little did we know, at the time, would be Gaslight Anthem 's final run before their 2015 indefinite hiatus . I don't believe we caught Against Me! but we did catch Jimmy Eat World 's phenomenal career-spanning set; to this day, I still recount how Gaslight 's set was and still is one my favorite performances I've ever seen—I previously caught a portion of their set at Metallica 's ill-fated 2012 Orion Music + More Festival —especially, since drummer Benny Horowitz had an unexpected "family emergency" and Against Me! 's Atom Willard learned the entire set in a matter of mere hours. It was a rather riveting, increasingly charismatic 20-song set f...

Marvin Nygaard & Vidar Landa of Norwegian Metal Band Kvelertak Unite with Børild Haughom & Espen Kvaloy to Form Gaslight Anthem-reminiscent Beachheads (Fysisk Format)

" Beachheads is a Power-Pop band from the west coast of Norway . This is their self-titled debut album. The spark that became Beachheads was first ignited on a tour bus, as Kvelertak members Vidar [Landa] (guitar) and Marvin [Nygaard] (bass) fantasized about the endless potential of fuzzy guitars, energetic drums, and good melodies. The two hard-working Kvelertak musicians had little time off and Beachheads endured as more of a favourite dream band on days off, than a "real" band," reads a fragmented chunk of BEACHHEADS' press text. While they've received wide-spread critical acclaim and have already garnered comparisons to " Big Star , Teenage Fanclub, and Punkier fare like The Replacements ," as Stereogum Senior Editor Tom Breihan perfectly puts it, but no one has seemed to compare Beachheads to their most fitting stateside musical counterpart, as I see it: New Brunswick, New Jersey 's own Heartland Rock/Folk Punk pride and joy...

We Made It In America: Jay-Z - "Open Letter" (Brooklyn Nets & Cuba-gate, 2013)

Rather than just issue some dumb, pre-concieved press release/statement, veteran lyrical assassin Jay-Z decided to step into the studio and record a track about his involvement in a few current events. "Open Letter" bravely delves into slightly questionable shit like The Carters vacationing in Cuba (a restricted tourism zone) and having to sell his small fraction of the Brooklyn Nets in order to become a sports agent. Timbaland and Swizz Beatz co-produced the track, which also somehow manages to work in references to Kevin Hart 's infamous "You gon learn t'day" comedy skit and Bob Dylan 's Blood on The Tracks era single, "Idiot Wind" (1975). It's worth noting that Jay-Z most likely isn't working on a new album, cause his hair is pretty shaped up and well-kept ha, which in itself, basically alludes to time NOT spent in-studio. Here's a few well-written bars pulled straight from the painfully short Life + Times -b...
