Peanut Butter Lovesicle Frontman & Drummer Timmy Miller Lets Loose Spiraling Psych-Rock "Wait Time" & Howlin' Wolf & John Lee Hooker-influenced "If I Woke" (self-released singles)

I honestly can't even remember how, but about 5-6 years ago now, I first discovered Pennsylvania -based by way of Ocean City, NJ —which just so happens to be my family's favorite "beach town"—awesomely-named Psych/Indie Rock trio Peanut Butter Lovesicle . PB Lovesicle consisted of blonde dread-locked drummer and frontman Timmy Miller and his two cousins (and brothers) guitarist Jake D'Arc and bassist Mike D'Arc . Between 2010-15, Timmy, Jake & Mike self-released a steady supply of Queens of The Stone Age & The Black Keys -influenced material, which included an array of Blues/Desert Rock -minded singles and EP's including, but not limited to: Heavy Daze Wildcat Craze EP , "Black Eyed Blues," Dirty Pride EP , "Complex," "Jealous Minds," and "Dragon Disease," as well as Timmy Miller & Jake D'Arc 's Hip-Hop -indebted Milky 22's EP from their side-band of the same name. Lest we forget, Pean...

Peanut Butter Lovesicle Frontman Timmy Miller Continues to Piece Together The 303 Construct with Acoustic-driven "Missing Pieces" & Reggae-indebted "Thinkin' Bout It" (self-released)

"'Missing Pieces" is more of an interlude type track. I had the acoustic guitar part for about a year and I came up with the backing vocals around the same time, but nothing creatively really came to me after that. A couple months ago, I re-visited the track and since recording it, a keyboard came into my life, so I decided to try some different sounds overtop of what already existed. The second half of the song has a heavier Electronic beat with the same first verse vocal and I really like the switch up from acoustic to heavier Electronic —it's very interesting to me and although it's a short one, I like what it does from beginning to end." - Timmy Miller on Friday's "Missing Pieces" Ocean City, New Jersey native, Timmy Miller , who has since re-located to Denver, Colorado and started working for the National Park Service , released two more tracks from his forthcoming solo debut, The 303 Construct this past NEW MUSIC FRIDAY ; "...

Peanut Butter Lovesicle Frontman & Milky 22's Drummer Timmy Miller Goes Solo On Anderson .Paak-influenced "Hate to Say" & INSTRUmental "Incitement" (The 303 Construct)

"I'm really just trying to write as much as possible. I've been recording and writing all of the material myself over the past two years using just GarageBand and a couple ribbon mics. It's very liberating to be able to begin a new idea or vision on a new instrument, whether it be guitar, bass, piano, or drums. 'The 303 Construct' is definitely a conglomeration of what I've been listening to the past two years being in Denver . I've seen a lot of great musicians—drummers, in particular," Peanut Butter Lovesicle frontman-drummer and New Jersey by way of Pennsylvania native Timmy Miller wrote within a recent email, concerning his forthcoming solo project tentatively titled The 303 Construct . "Affiliating myself as mainly a drummer, I've been enjoying the less-is-more pocket style with some R&B off-beat hi-hat accents. Anderson .Paak 's album, Malibu has some great examples of that and I've really been enjoying watchin...

Peanut Butter Lovesicle's Cousin-Duo Timmy Miller & Jake D'Arc Unleash 2pac & BlakRoc-influenced "Care Less" (Milky 22's EP)

"Ohh, what to do with childhood memories of frequenting overpriced boardwalk shops for gaudy sterling silver chains with dragons? You wait 12 years to flush them out in song form," newly-formed cousin-duo Jake D'Arc & Timmy Miller (Milky 22's) lamented within their Facebook band biography; a sentiment I can all too much relate to, having grown up frequenting "The Jersey Shore" summer after summer as a kid, much like D'Arc & Miller, who spent their summers down in beach-side town Ocean City, NJ along with brother/cousin Mike D'Arc . While on a brief hiatus from full-time band, Peanut Butter Lovesicle formed with D'Arc, Timmy Miller & Jake D'Arc managed to sporadically record some eight tracks in just one week's time at their Ocean City -based live-in studio space, The Ice Box ; five of those eight Summer 2014-recorded tracks have recently been collected, mixed, and mastered by Jake D'Arc & Mike Tarsia as their...

The Witzard Presents: Peanut Butter Lovesicle - "Dragon Disease" (self-released B-side)

"Trust this trio to make contagiously vibrant Psych-Rock that's this hideously cool. Prepare to have your brain cells stolen and shoved in a Rock "N" Roll grinder," laments Spoonfed UK ... Even having grown up a proud New Jerseyan , it's still a little hard to believe that a modern Hard Rock band such as Peanut Butter Lovesicle was essentially birthed at The Jersey Shore . While they're currently based out of New York City , brothers Mike & Jake D'Arc grew up in Pennsylvania along with their cousin and drumming frontman, Timmy Miller ; not unlike most East Coasters , PBL seemingly spent their childhood summers down at Ocean City, NJ , where they still frequently record at Ice Box & Ice Palace and play shows at local venue, Yesterday's Restaurant & Bar . Peanut Butter Lovesicle gained notoriety when their two singles, "State of I" and "Black-Eyed Blues," were featured on a recent season of Gossip Girl ...

Rock "N" Roll Ain't Noise Pollution: Peanut Butter Lovesicle - "In The Zone" (Dirty Pride EP)

Peanut Butter Lovesicle are a band made up of 2 Jersey -bred brothers, Jake & Mike D'Arc , and their cousin, Timmy Miller who somehow effortlessly manage to combine the Classic Rock bravado of Led Zeppelin with Cage The Elephant 's brand of Country-Rock SWAG. "In The Zone" 's opening riff reminds me a little bit of The Cars' smash hit, "Good Times Roll" (1979); While the lead track was just released to the masses yesterday, Peanut Butter Lovesicle plan to liberate it's companion EP, Dirty Pride nation-wide on Sept. 25th. The band's new EP was "recorded in an 1869-built church in Hudson, NY using 2-inch tape, few overdubs, and minimal digital." Production work was handled by Henry Hirsch , who's previously worked with the likes of Lenny Kravitz, Mick Jagger , and Madonna , and the tracks were then engineered by Rachel Alina . Featured below is Peanut Butter Lovesicle 's [other] Blues -drenched, Gossip Girl-s...

#whitegirlproblems?: The Pretty Reckless - "Make Me Wanna Die" (Taylor Momsen)

Taylor "Cindy Lou Who" Momsen and her [teen] angst-filled Alternative Rock band, The Pretty Reckless are gearing up to join Marilyn Manson's Hey Cruel World... Tour . Momsen has been on "indefinite hiatus" from her infamous Gossip Girl acting gig since roughly 2010. But she's made good use of her new-found downtime, re-inventing herself and perusing her Rock "N" Roll fantasies along with The Pretty Reckless . Taylor Momsen says she's creatively influenced by Led Zeppelin, Nirvana, Soundgarden , The White Stripes , and Oasis ; She's reportedly been messing around with music since the age of 8 and upon signing with Interscope Records (2009), has recruited a variety of band members, which now include: Ben Phillips, Mark Damon , and Jamie Perkins . The Pretty Reckless' discography currently consists of one album and 2 EP's. The bulk of which, including full-length Light Me Up , were written-recorded along with famed producer Ka...
