Vans_Westly Returns with "Off Da Hook" Cover of Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" (Bandcamp Exclusive)

We first heard about Vans_Westly right around the time of the release of his 2017 EP, QUILLS , primarily produced by NelWayne with one additional beat crafted by Drew Scott. Vans' next effort, Bubble Boy, was released on fellow Baltimoreons Height Keech's own Cold Rhymes Records. Bubble Boy was entitely produced by Height, again, with one lone beat produced by Drew Scott. Vans_Westly returned in 2020 with his Rapscallion EP entirely produced by Jumbled with profits raised benefitting both Bail Fund and The Baltimore Animal Rescue & Care Shelter (BARCS.) Vans has since released Bandcamp-exclusive songs either covering, featuring, sampling, evoking, or otherwise incorporating the likes of Buddy Ross, Mac DeMarco, and The Backyardigans with assistance from his usual cast of collaborators. Break Stuff (Limp Bizkit cover) by Vans_Westly Vans_Westly (@Vans_Westly) recently teased his most off-kilter concoction on Twitter posting, "Recording the most ridiculous out-of...

Stampede of The Disco Elephants: Limp Bizkit & Lil' Wayne - "Ready to Go" (Cash Money)

Anyone remember a period in time... oh, maybe 10-12 years ago when guys like Lil' Wayne & Fred Durst were still socially relevant and putting out 1/2 decent music? The most interesting thing that Lil' Wayne 's done in recent memory was going into a spurt of codeine-induced seizures (allegedly) and Limp Bizkit signed to his label, Cash Money around this time last year, supposedly broke up , and re-formed since. Needless to say, a Limp Bizkit/Wayne collabo would've likely sounded pretty AWESOME, had it been released between Chocolate Starfish & The Hot Dog Flavored Water and Tha Carter III (2000-08). But as rough as I've made this track sound so far, if Lil' Wayne 's still going for that whole slightly dated sleaze-soaked Rap-Rock vibe, Limp Bizkit 's probably your go-to band of knuckleheads. "Ready to Go" has been in-the-works for the larger part of a year, since initially inking a deal with Cash Money , and was finally unlea...

Wu-Tang Horrorcore Revivalists: Flatbush Zombies - "Laker Paper" (Erick Arc Elliott, Beats)

Brooklyn 's very own Flatbush Zombies are preparing to essentially single-handedly "bring [back] da mother_ucking ruckus." The One, Two crew of tag-team rappers Meechy Darko & Zombie Juice are backed by the morbidly RZArected beats of in-house producer, Erick Arc Elliott . Flatbush Zombies indeed evoke the mid-90's, Gravediggaz popularized genre of Horrorcore ... adding their own unique updated twist(s), in an effort to revitalize the music after Limp Bizkit forever tarnished and brutally killed it. From what I can tell, The Zombies released their first track, "Thug Waffles" back in November 2011; Since then, they've slowly leaked out a handful of additional tracks: "S.C.O.S.A." "Caps Lock," "Gucci Gucci" (KREAYSHAWN) , and "Suspiria." While their latest track, "Laker Paper" was liberated roughly 2 days ago, there are still no signs of a Flatbush Zombies mixtape/full-length. But if the ...
