A Pumpkin-punchin' Post-Halloween Punk/Hardcore Playlist Featuring Beloved Ghouls, DETOXI, Discourage, Get Married, INTEGRITY & Senses Fail/Saves The Day

So, as many of you may well know by now, my wife and I are first-time parents of a now 4-month-old(!) baby and while I'm still trying to find a healthy balance between writing here on The Witzard, as well as a handful of other sites, and hanging out with my growing family, it admittedly isn't always easy. So, while I ran a bunch of Halloween-centric features over the course of the past two weeks or so, I didn't exactly have time to cover everything that came out on or around Friday for Halloween after our last post before the weekend. However, with that said, there were a bunch of ghoulishly great Halloween jams—both originals and covers—released this year. Now, with all that said, I'm proud to present to you A Pumpkin-punchin' Post-Halloween Punk/Hardcore Playlist. I've included Bandcamp links for most of these, as that's my preferred steaming platform (in addition to Spotify) and some of these picks selected are available as Bandcamp-only exclusives and ...

DJ Cummerbund Pens Yet Another Chapter In The Ever-evolving Saga of Rhonda Garbonzo: Flo Rida, T-Pain & Motörhead-assisted "Boots (with The Fur)"

Here, ladies and germs, we have the next audio/visual chapter in the ever-evolving saga of Rhonda Garbanzo : Flo Rida, T-Pain & Motörhead -borrowing "Boots (with The Fur.)" Lest we forget, the last time we heard from our beloved strong female protagonist was within DJ Cummerbund 's Foo Fighters -approved "Freaktender;" an expertly-executed mash-up artfully blending Foo Fighters' "The Pretender," Rick James' 1981 Disco-Funk smash hit "Super Freak," The Beach Boys' "Help Me, Rhonda," and Led Zeppelin , for good measure. Since "Freaktender" and prior to the infectious Urban R&B and Heavy Metal -blending concoction that is "Boots (with The Fur,)" DJ Cummerbund has unleashed Evanescence & Celine Dion -juxtaposing "Bring Me My Heart," Nickelback , Sixpence None The Richer, Ying Yang Twins , Dragonforce, and Lil Jon -featuring "FreckleFeet" (the sequel to "P...

You're Living All Over Me: California X - "Spider X/Pond Rot" (Don Giovanni)

I usually try to stray away from conjuring up those vague, strangely obtrusive analogies to describe what a band "sounds like." But here's one for good ol' time's sake: Black Flag/Dinosaur Jr. /Motörhead . Now, that's a pretty damn accurate description of Amherst, Mass' very own California X 's scuzzy brand of guitar-driven Garage Punk/Rock ; Lemmy, Dan & "Cool" (guitar-bass-drums) also incorporate stylistic touches of Rock "N" Roll , which sound similar to The Stooges and Foo Fighters . The band's self-titled [untitled] full-length, California X , is out on Don Giovanni this upcoming January 15th. It's the follow-up to their Damage 45, "Sucker/Mummy" from early 2012 and overall, they're describing it as "noisy 80's Western Mass. Rock , fuzzy 90's Garage Pop , and classic Post-Hardcore SST sounds." While California X and their crew are currently cutting together a SCARY final e...
