New Found Glory Share New Acoustic/Live Unplugged Album Make The Most of It Amidst Chad Gilbert's Cancer Diagnoses (Revelation Records)

New Found Glory while recording Make The Most of It (CREDIT: Stevie Lowstein) New Found Glory have learned, with all their success, that everything can, also, get upended in the blink of an eye. In December 2021, fresh off the celebratory Pop-punk's Still Not Dead Tour in support of their tenth album, Forever + Ever x Infinity , guitarist and founding member Chad Gilbert was found unresponsive in his bed at home, rushed to a local hospital, and diagnosed with an eight-inch cancerous tumor. Hospital stays, surgery, and a long road to recovery followed—but, in typical New Found Glory fashion, so did the songs. The band's new album, Make The Most of It —their twelfth overall, first acoustic, and first for Revelation Records—tackles the last year head-on with their most emotional and cathartic collection of songs to date. Written in the wake of Gilbert's cancer diagnosis and mixed by Mark Trombino (blink-182, Jimmy Eat World, Midtown,) Make The Most of It is a rumination on w...

New Found Glory Kicks Off Halloween Season with "Scarier Than Jason Voorhees At A Campfire" (Hopeless Records)

Last year, Pop-punk pioneers New Found Glory (NFG) released the third installment in their film covers EP series, fittingly titled From The Screen to Your Stereo 3. Then, earlier this year, NFG returned with a new studio album, their tenth, Forever + Ever x Infinity, which was widely regarded by both fans and crits alike as a return to the band's Pop-punk/Melodic Hardcore roots. Forever + Ever x Infinity was initially slated for a May 29, 2020 release to be sold as a Target-only exclusive, but because of the then-impending COVID-19 Pandemic, was pushed back by New Found Glory and their label, Hopeless Records, to June 19, 2020 and saw a more wide release due to various safety concerns. Now, a number of moths post-release, Forever + Ever x Infinity has birthed a number of singles, both official and promotional, including "Greatest of All Time," "Stay Awhile," "Himalaya," "Shook By Your Shaved Head," and, most recently, "Scarier Than Jaso...

New Found Glory Unravel "A Thousand Years" Music Video from Movie Covers EP From The Screen to Your Stereo 3 (Hopeless Records)

New Found Glory (NFG) were easily one of the pillars of late 90's-early 2000's Pop-Punk , alongside contemporaries blink-182 & Green Day . I've always, personally, enjoyed NFG 's "Ex-Miss" from Immortal Records' 2003 Punk/Hardcore holiday comp. A Santa Cause: It's A Punk Rock Christmas . Over the years, I've, also, very much enjoyed New Found Glory 's various singles from their beloved/critically-acclaimed albums, such as "Hit or Miss," "My Friends Over You," "Head On Collision," and "All Down Hill from Here." Just the other day, I saw a post on of one Alt Press' social media accounts talking about a NFG cover of Christina Perri 's "A Thousand Years" from Twilight . I soon learned, with some additional digital sleuthing, that New Found Glory had released the third installment in their movie covers EP series, From The Screen to Your Stereo , just this past May. From The Scree...

Various Artists VI: How Compilations Influenced a Generation - A Santa Cause (It's A Punk Rock Christmas) Penned By: John E. Swan

INTRODUCTION: Maybe, it's in the gray hairs that I've started finding in my thinning hair. Maybe, it's that dreaded third decade of life that seems to have been rearing it's ugly face around every corner. Maybe, it's a quarter life crisis, but something has been keeping me up at night. I sometimes, stay awake into the early hours of the morning spinning records and fumbling with CD jackets from high school, grasping hold of my youth for dear life. I search out elusive first presses of albums I'd somehow, lost to time, hoping that they'll somehow, tighten the thread leading from middle school to adulthood. To be clear, I'm not fishing my torn band T-shirts or bondage pants from the depths of my closet, but as I make the transition into my 30's, shedding roommates and getting oil changes at regularly scheduled intervals, I can't help ruminating on where these albums came from and how they've shaped me. I can't help begging the question, ...
