Antonio "ANTWON" Williams Teams Up with Deafheaven Guitarist Kerry McCoy for "Changes" from Emo-Rap 25TH ST. SESSIONS Split 7-inch (Ghost Ramp)

" Kerry [McCoy] and I met at the last Caltrain stop in San Francisco , summer of 2012. Somewhat later on while working on Double Ecstasy , I asked Kerry to come in and make something for the record. He did and this became "Changes." Kerry said he had the riff forever in his head. My man Lars Stalfors helped us out overseeing and the rest was [history]," Antonio "ANTWON" Williams wrote within a recent "Changes" -premiering Noisey piece. ANTWON and Deafheaven guitarist Kerry McCoy previously collaborated on a live rendition of "(In) Dark Denim" from the album of the same name for a Converse Rubber Tracks: Ready, Set back in June 2013. Guitar Planet asked McCoy to name an artist whose music he loves that might come as a surprise to their readers, to which he responded, "we listen to a lot of Rap , which isn't really a surprising thing to anyone in my group of friends, but this seems to surprise a lot of people who...

The Shape of Punk to Come: New York's HARAM Unleash Frantic Arabic-delivered, Japanese Hardcore-influenced شو بتشوف؟ "What Do You See?" EP (Toxic State Records)

شو بتشوف؟ "What Do You See?" by HARAM " Nader Habibi is a frizzy-haired and heavily tattooed Lebanese-American from Yonkers, New York . He has a fondness for mesh tank tops, large earrings, and raging Hardcore Punk . Two days after improvised bomb attacks left New York City tense and frightened, HARAM have dropped the follow-up to their well-received 2015 DEMO ," Noisey scribe Tim Scott wrote within a September 20th-published HOLY SH*T profile. Scott's of course, referring to Arab-American Punks HARAM 's latest quick-strike Emil Bognar-Nasdor recorded EP, شو بتشوف؟ "What Do You See?" which is noticeably influenced by Aggro-Rap "darlings" Death Grips , Japanese Hardcore, and Toxic State Records' acclaimed Ground Zero NYC 2013 comp. While I can't exactly decipher much of frontman Nadir Habibi/Haram 's blood-curdling, often bellowed Arabic lyrics (aside from English translated titles), the sentiment first echo...

Mysterious Pouty-lipped Soul-Pop Songstress Red Rosamond Evokes Amy Winehouse, Lana del Rey & Nancy Sinatra On CLASH Music-premiered "Looks Can Kill" Follow-up, "Damn" (WAX LTD)

"What would happen if 007 was portrayed by a strong female lead, photographed by Helmut Newton , and adorned with a soundtrack of dark romantic Soul ? Meet Red Rosamond ," LA -based songstress Red Rosamond 's Soundcloud reads. Although, she's only released two songs thus far, Rosamond has already drawn rather striking comparisons to Amy Winehouse , Lana del Rey , and Nancy Sinatra . "I am driven by love. I am inspired by the emotionally authentic—the passionate, the bold, the determined—and the flawed. I grew up listening to stars like Aretha Franklin , Dinah Washington , Al Green & Tina Turner . Inspired by their work, every song I write I aim to be true. "Damn" is about the power play between two people. The magnetism, the seduction... It’s about desire and heartbreak, about someone who has a hold on you. We all have that one that got away and this is our soundtrack, my love letter to you," signed 𝔁 𝓡𝓮𝓭, written within her emailed...

DEATH GRIPS WAS ALWAYS HAS BEEN A CONCEPTUAL ART EXHIBITION ANCHORED BY SOUND [AND] VISION. ABOVE AND BEYOND A "BAND." TO OUR TRUEST FANS PLEASE STAY [LEGEND]," Death Grips wrote within a seemingly haphazard napkin-scrawled band break-up note uploaded to their Facebook page back in July 2014. Although, it now seems as though said disbandment was nothing more than an elaborately planned rouse, as founding members MC Ride, Zach Hill & Flatlander are amidst a full-fledged band reunion; having already circled the world once around, booked a number of festival dates for this upcoming summer, and are currently recording a proper follow-up to their reported "last" album, The Powers That B , tentativel...

Asher Roth & Nottz Raw Enlist Blink-182 Drummer Travis Barker for Self-described "Supercalifragilistic-mystic Odyssey," RAWTHER EP (RetroHash)

" Ash Roth, Trav Bark, Nottz Raw ... supercalifragilistic-mystic odyssey / When Travis hits the crashing kick and Nottz is on the beat / When Ash is spittin' nasty sh*t, it makes it hard to breathe / Masters of the craft, it's the last of a dying breed," Asher Roth ferociously rhymes during his introductory "Goin' Down" verse on his latest cleverly-titled Travis Barker and Nottz Raw -assisted release, RAWTHER EP . Roth's newest Punk Rock -tinged extended player has seemingly been in-the-works since he, Nottz , and Barker first met during their concert-opening stint on Blink-182 's 2009 "One Way to Bonerville" reunion tour, which in turn, helped spawn a plentiful working relationship, as well as Travis Barker 's "Sour Patch Kids" Remix from his remarkable mid-album cycle mixtape, Seared Foie Gras with Quince & Cranberry . RAWTHER is of course, the unofficial follow-up to Asher & Nottz 's Misfits and J...

Tom Gould Presents: Action Bronson & Party Supplies - "Easy Rider" (VICE/Atlantic Records)

" ACTiON BRONSON JUST JUMPED TO THE TOP OF THE RAP GAME FOOD CHAiN WiTH THiS MOViE-QUALiTY ViDEO, "EASY RiDER" FT SLASH ," Tweeted oddball rapper and supposed Galaxy Gladiators collaborator, @JODYHiGHROLLER aka RiFF RAFF . "DON'T LET ME DIIIEEEE!!!" Action Bronson proclaims in a black-and-white red bandana-accented clip whilst pummeling bullets out of a machine gun, which appears to be a war flashback; as "Easy Rider"'s hymn-like intro starts, we see our bed-ridden hero approached by a lieutenant, "Soldier, tell me what happened..." to which Action Bronson achingly grunts, "Where's my guitaarrr!!?" It's largely unclear what happens next, but we see Bronson, still in a hospital gown, and his red bandana speeding down a barren desert highway as "EASY RIDER" and "DIRECTED BY TOM GOULD " scroll across the trailer-esque screen. RiFF RAFF is generally non-sensical, but he's 100% righ...

Noisey Presents: Open Mike Eagle - "Dark Comedy Morning Show" (Mello Music Group)

Sharp-tongued Los Angeles by-way-of Chicago emcee Open Mike Eagle has been self-described as an underground "Art-Rap" hero; recently having signed a purported three-album deal with Indie Hip-Hop imprint Mello Music Group . Noisey premiered the second single from Eagle's upcoming fourth album, Dark Comedy , which is currently set for a June 10th release, Tuesday afternoon. "Dark Comedy Morning Show" was supposedly the second to last song recorded for the new album... "It took me a long time to write because I kept wanting to sing this Stereolab song on it that was way out of my range," Open Mike Eagle revealed on Twitter. "Dark Comedy Morning Show" was seemingly influenced by Open Mike Eagle 's recent stint with traveling comedian Paul F. Tompkins and additionally features production work/vocal accompaniment from rising multi-instrumentalist Toy Light . Sonically, it's very emotive of 90's Indie Pop , something not t...

Random Access Memories: Daft Punk & Jay Z - "Computerized" (unreleased)

It's pretty awesome how wildly popular something as arguably inaccessible as Daft Punk 's sun-soaked Pharrell & Nile Rodgers -assisted 1970's Soul-Funk revival, "Get Lucky" slowly became one of the break-out hits of last summer; "Getting lucky is not just sleeping with her, but meeting someone for the first time and it just clicking. There's no better fortune in this existence to me," Pharrell explained within a pre-album Creators Project segment. Their Grammy -winning album, Random Access memories featured vocal contributions from the lies of Julian Casablancas , Panda Bear, Paul Williams , Chilly Gonzales, as well as a couple aggro-production credits on Kanye 's latest Industrial-Rap album, Yeezus . While it's true validity has yet to be 100% fully confirmed, a previously unreleased Daft Punk & Jay Z track suddenly materialized on The Internet Monday afternoon. Kanye to The forum user LordLordLord uploaded "Computer...

Noisey's Dan Ozzi Presents: Jake Bowman's Crust Punk/Hip-Hop Leftöver Crack & Kanye Mash-up "Leftöver Kanye" (self-released)

I guess I've been experiencing somewhat of a writer's block spell for the better part of this past week, maybe I'm just uninspired... or maybe the state of popular music as a whole has seen better days; all week long, I've just wanted to write two solid Punk Rock and Hip-Hop pieces, but nothing worth-while had really piqued my interest(s) thusfar. Although all that immediately changed once I read Noisey editor Dan Ozzi 's latest piece, titled "Kanye West and Crustpunk: Together at Last." It makes completely logical sense, considering Kanye 's recent genre-pulverizing Industrial-Rap monster of an album, Yeezus and I honestly feel that this is something he'd really enjoy listening to. Ozzi further describes the Jake Bowman -orchestrated mash-up album as "sort of an odd pairing, putting Kanye 's pompous rap verses over that crack rock-steady beat." He additionally notes that "most of Kanye 's fans probably wouldn't k...
