Recent Pick Ups!

Just a quick Wednesday morning post to get the day started. A nice box of 1988 Donruss baseball cards to rip, a couple of 1988 Topps Rack Packs, two more Joe Minimates and Marvel Legends X-Men 97 Wolverine just about sums up my October pick ups.

Funko Pop! GI Joe/ Transformers Lunch Box

I picked this up mainly for the lunch box as It gives me mad 80s elementary school vibes! The goodies included within were a major plus! Check out the pics!

GI Joe Classified Snake Eyes ( Commando) w/ Timber

Image
I'm really liking this Snake Eyes/ Timber Classified set! I was hesitant at first about picking this up as I'm not big on green pants Snake Eyes but it's pretty subtle and doesn't detract from the overall commando aesthetics. Timber is the focal point here for me and rightfully so! Messing around with the different doggie poses has me flashing back to my old Daggit figure from the Battlestar Galactica line of action figures. On a side note - If you notice any drop in picture quality it's because I'm using a lower end phone cam. It's not horrible but just putting it out there. Anyways, enjoy the pics!

I Like The Chemistry

Image
I snapped this pic a couple days ago and couldn't help but be intrigued by the chemistry between Snake Eyes and Baroness on the shelf. I think they team up in the movie, not sure, haven't seen it yet. What do you guys think about a Snake Eyes Baroness spin off? Pimp Daddy Destro would go ballistic!

GI Joe Origins Snake Eyes

Image
I haven't seen Snake Eyes GI Joe Origins yet but from what I've heard it's not that good. I have, however, recently viewed a few scenes on Fandango Movie Clips and it didn't seem so bad. For a martial arts film, anyway. I wasn't crazy about the revamping of the Snake Eyes character but was willing to give Henry Golding a chance as long as they didn't change the backstory too much, and then they did. I guess I can't fairly criticize until I actually see the movie. On the positive, we got more Snake Eyes action figures.     Seeing as how I purchased this together with the Lanard Predator figure, I have to say that I had more fun with Lanard's product. Maybe it was the brightness and overall presentation of Lanard's Predator packaging that appealed more to me than the lesser stimulating Snake Eyes box. The drab color scheme is fitting for Snake Eyes I guess.  Again, no bio or backstory on the back of the box. Not even...

Just when I thought all was lost and the prospect of toy hunting was becoming  more daunting than the actual hunt , this happened! I'll be looking at both figures more closely in the next couple of days. Also, stay tuned for my Marvel Legends Retro fig opening post😉

This Just In...

Image
I stopped in my local Walmart a few minutes ago and came across this! I couldn't believe my eyes! I thought I was dreaming. I almost told the lady standing next to me to pinch me but I don't think her husband would have liked that very much. What did I bring home you ask? Stay tuned for the follow up post.

GI Joe Classified - Snake Supreme Cobra Commander Pt.2

Image
I've been having a hard time finding decent backgrounds for action figure pics lately but may have stumbled across a solution at my local Dollar Tree. These textured backsplash panels make for a great backdrop and could even be used as diorama castle walls.  I recommend using 4 panels when photographing 6" figures, especially for wide shots. I only used 2 and found myself having to bunch the figures together to get them all in the frame. Not a bad looking background, though.  I really like this version of Cobra Commander. The soft goods cape and staff reminded me of the 3.75" Pursuit of Cobra figure.  My Classified collection so far! Many thanks to Toy Box for the hook up! Snake Supreme Cobra Commander is an amazing figure and one that I highly recommend 🐍🐍🐍
