My Top 10 From 2025 #3

Image
#3 Coming in at number 3 we have two 2025 pick ups that literally brightened things up here on 2 Minute Toy Break. I had been in a bit of a toy funk when these guys showed up in my eBay MOTU Origins search at a very good price for the pair. I snagged them up, they arrived and greatness ensued! Fave Factor: For me it's mostly about the colors with these guys. The colorful combinations of greens, yellows, reds, pinks and smokey blues give Sun-Man and Pig-Head an aesthetic edge over the competition. They don't just pop on display, they shine brilliantly!

MOTU Origins - Hypno

Image
There's something very celestial, almost extraterrestrial about this line of figures and I can't get enough of it! Hypno continues that trend with his ability to hipnotize and mesmerize Pig Head and his band of evil doers just with the sound of his voice. Able to see into the future, Hypno and his sidekick Falcon easily get the jump on their opponents.  Look at all this greatness! Sun-Man and The Rulers of the Sun need their own series!

MOTU Origins - Digitino

Image
This group of sun touched heroes are quite the cerebral bunch. So who does Sun-Man call on when the tough questions need answering? Digitino! Blessed with the mind of a computer, Digitino can solve any problem!  Digitino shares a head sculpt with Zap-Man. I'm not a big fan of that. I guess that's how the original figures were, so Mattel is just keeping it true to the Olmec Toys line. I do like Digitino's glow in the dark web gear and staff although I'm not quite sure what kind of powers it has.  The battle wages on! Who will come out on top?

MOTU Origins - Space Sumo

Image
Space Sumo confused the heck out of collectors. He doesn't look like a space dude or a Sumo. Apparently, his powers and name were bestowed upon him by some of the mightiest warriors in history.  Space Sumo looks pretty bad ass! The mask reminds me of the old Remco Secret of the Ninja line.  So far, so good for Pig-Head. Looks like he's handling himself nicely. Space Sumo will try to change that!

MOTU Origins - Zap- Man

Image
Zap- Man might be my favorite figure, so far, in the MOTU ROTS Sun-Man line. Equipped with virus killing mini towers on both arms, Zap-Man relies on computer hacking skills and defense to protect against dangerous tech. More or less what Mainframe is to the Joes.  Zap-Man is a solid figure with a bright color scheme that I'm really digging! I love the accessories and the helmet design. The head sculpt is cool but was repurposed for another Sun-Man figure that I'll be reviewing in the next couple of days. It's a good thing he's got a helmet. Other than that, Mattel has done an excellent job with this run.  Is it curtains for Pig-Head?!? Stay tuned 😵

MOTU Origins - Holographo

Image
It's very MOTU-ish to add an "o" at the end of a characters name, which is probably why OLMEC Toys followed suit. I get it. Funny names aside, let's get to know Holographo!  While Kikto relies on hand to hand combat and knife play to fight off the evil forces of Pig-Head, Holographo chooses to fight with his brains. Having the scientific power to manipulate illusions, Holographo can visually confuse the enemy. For example, see that pepperoni and cheese pizza on Holographos chest? Wrong! It's not really a pepperoni and cheese pizza, but I bet you thought it was. I did. So did Pig-Head! Now you're confused, I'm a little bit hungry and Pig-Head's Distracted long enough for Holographo to call on Zap-Man for back up!
