PRUDENCE
Here is our Prudence restored. She was built in 1947 in Maine and we found her in need of a total restoration in Marblehead. She was a lot of fun for our young boatbuilders. We also got a list of all the previous owners and contacted them. They thought she was long gone.
ST. NICHOLAS
This is a copy of the XVIII century boat. She belonged to the Russian emperor Peter first. The original is now stored in the Naval Museum, in Sank-Petersburg, Russia.
ELLIE MAY
This Whitefin 22, powered by a 90 hp Evinrude, cruises about 25 knots with four adults aboard and has a top seed of 35 mph. Bruce Hansen constructed it from plans by John Gengler, using epoxy and plywood over mahogany frames.
IACOBOS
Lary Kuhns built this 19′ drift boat, IACOBOS from plans by Jerry Estes of British Columbia. IACOBOS is very rugged, with a 1″ bottom of CVG fir, glassed inside and out. Lary uses the boat to fish the Kenai River near his home in Homer, Alaska.
MINI-CANOE
Weighing only 20 pounds, this "mini-canoe" was designed and built by Robert Van Orden. He writes that it cost just over $50 and took about 20 hours to build. He used a single sheet of 3/16" plywood for the planking and made the stems and ribs from pine. It is 7'8" long and 27" wide.
SISSY
Frank Butler launched this lovely little rowing boat, SISSY, on June 27, 2001. She is constructed of red cedar planking on oak frames.with backbone, wales, and knees out of red oak. The hog, seatrisers, and timbers are of white oak.
