Event planning, public relations, and business consulting
Supposedly every day cannot just be filled with dirty martinis, afternoon coffee dates, walks in the park, and romantic musings, so let’s do some business.
Shall we?
And while it was a joke, there is so much truth to that statement.
My business revolves around celebrating the significant moments of others.
I may sacrifice my weekends, bringing dream days to life, but it has led to a career in which every day is my own.
With experience in advertising, branding, public relations, and the many different sides of the wedding industry - I have a head full of and one too many notebooks filled with ideas, knowledge, and guidance to share. I took the long way around, so let me hold your hand and show you the way.
I didn’t give up every weekend of my twenties not to share what I learned.
My best friend (and graphic designer) once said that the unofficial tagline of my wedding and event planning business, Sonder Event Co., should be “Other people’s happiness. TM.”

Wedding Vendor
Are you starting a business or looking to improve your business? Do you want to know how to get on a planner’s preferred vendors list?
I’ve got a minor in events management (yes, I took wedding planning classes in college), a certification, and eight years in the industry.
From a fly on the wall as a photo booth attendant to a venue coordinator to now leading the day, I have seen it all and would love to tell you about it and help you navigate the wild wild west of the wedding industry.
Wedding Venue
Starting a wedding venue is no easy fete.
Let me tell you what you need, how to get your first bookings, or how to improve on what you already have. I have seen hundreds of venues and know what works and what increases risks.
Small Business
Insurance, LLCs, services, oh my!
Don’t get scammed by Google searching how to start a business. I will walk you through the essential first steps of getting started.
BIG Dreams
Your dreams are on your heart and stuck in your head because there is a version of you that already has already achieved it.
Do you want to discuss your idea with someone who will GET IT? Need a name? Brand? Logo? Website? Ideas? Marketing Plan? Or just a friend to cowork with?
I have produced for national brands like HGTV, the Boston Red Sox, and Keurig and have been published in The New York Times, R Home, and Wine Spectator. With one foot still in the creative world as the board advisor to the Advertising Club of Richmond - I will set you up with tangible goals, a strategy, and, most importantly, connections.
Wake up, babe; it’s time to make it all come true.
Let’s make your every day a good day.
Is this our meet cute?
was a serial flow girl as a child and has been planning events since her junior prom (this is a heartwarming story if you ever want to hear it).
Before starting her own business, Helen worked for five years as a wedding vendor and venue coordinator on the weekends while working full-time in marketing and PR. She has planned events with the Boston Red Sox, international and local wine brands, and Sam Kass, the Senior Policy Advisor for Nutrition Policy and Chef under President Obama.
Today she spends her life choosing napkin colors and booking room blocks and loves every damn minute of it - after years of learning the hard way.
So, while Helen pretends she’s Lauren Conrad in the mid-2010s and relives her Tumblr-famous days, you can bypass some of the heartache of taking the long road by letting her tell you what to do.
The rest is still unwritten…
