‘Assembly' (a series of 20 images) is in response to the‘Picturing the Mines’ project I co -devised with artist Bernard Irwin. (see in ‘Curated.’) Commissioned by the Cornish Mining World Heritage Sites to commemorate the mining legacy. We invited a host of artists, mining experts, schools and the public to collaborate in a tour of events and performances that informed our suite of ten copper etchings .

‘Assembly’ gathers figures together that interweave the legacies of mining in Cornwall. Mine workers to owners, campaigners, preachers, disaster fatalities, bal maidens, poets and pit ponies are intersected with images of unearthed gems.
