Ancients Range Additions
Photos of all the New 12mm Late Republican Roman range now available to view on the product listings.
With the British tribes spread along the western bank of the Medway this scenario was designed to re-fight the first day of this 2 day battle in which the Romans successfully crossed the river and established their battle lines on the west bank of the Medway in preparation for day 2 of the battle.
Green Single Hexes
Due to popular demand we are now producing plain green single hexes, flocked with Noch 50210. We have been making these to special order for many years and they are now available to purchase directly through the website. The base hexes are made using the injection moulding process, a short clip can be seen below. Sally being the production worker!

Romano British v Medieval Scottish Battle
"The idea of pitching a Scottish medieval army against a Romano British army had been buzzing in my head for quite a while. So, I constructed 2 representative armies and let the dice decide; which players commanded which armies; table side; first deployment and first move. We employed the assistance of James F from another game to choose and layout the terrain features so that the entire set-up was dictated by the various dice rolls. Sometimes, this produces a very fair and often multi-faceted scenario, but in all honesty I think it’s fair to say that from the out-set the Romano Brits were very much fighting against the dice rolls!"

This was the third game in the campaign and the Roman army had now advanced towards London, only to be confronted by another British force.

The second game in our Roman Invasion of Britain campaign and represented the advance of a Roman army towards the ‘village’ of Reading. Tim and Chris took command of the British and Tony and I the Romans.

The first game as part of a campaign based on the Roman conquest of Britain in the 1st century AD.
Tony had the task of coordinating the campaign and this first battle was to have taken place as the first Roman Legion advanced northwards from the Kent coast.

Price Increase 1st February
The price of the lead free pewter we use to cast all our metal miniatures has nearly tripled in price over the last 2 years! We have made every effort possible not to increase our prices. Unfortunately, here we are in January of 2022 and there is little sign of the price of tin price easing on the London metal exchange anytime soon, so we reluctantly have to suspend our 6 for the price of 5 army deal on 1st February. We will however retain our standard pack price of £6 for 32 infantry, 16 cavalry, 4 guns and crews etc., in the belief that as more ‘normality’ returns to world markets we should see some improvement in the price of tin.
