Community activist.
Born at Granville Lake, Manitoba on 17 October 1931, son of Thomas Head and Mary Sayese, he worked as a trapper, diamond driller and guide before becoming involved in Metis politics. One of the founders of the Manitoba Metis Federation (MMF), he was committed to advancement of the Metis Nation, acting as Vice-President of the MMF’s Thompson region and elected as MMF President in 1975. He was recognized for his achievements with induction into the Order of Manitoba (2005) and the Order of the Metis Nation (?). In 2004, the MMF gave him the title of Senator for his service. He died on 27 October 2009 and was buried in The Pas.
