As a young girl I was a bit of a 'Tom Boy', so was never really into jewellery, especially earrings. Over the years my love for necklaces and earrings has grown, and along with that, the problem of storing them has grown as well.
Until today, my earrings were haphazardly stuffed into a container which made them hard to see and use, especially when in a rush.
Today I decided to solve my sorting problem and came up with the super simple idea of cutting up some felt (recycled from an old laptop case) and finally organising my earrings for ease of viewing and use.
I cut the felt into various fun shapes - you could do anything from circles, hearts, triangles, cactuses... then added the earrings and was super happy with the result.
Presenting a tidy and easy to use way to display your earrings and brooches.
And if you were wondering, here are some of my favourite places to buy earrings.... Twig and Little, Natty, AliExpress and Kmart!

In the past I've always whipped up a crochet cover for my phones (like this) but with my recent obsession of making cushion covers out of recycled blankets, I just had a whip up a little cover for my phone.
Anyone can make one of these if they have fabric and a sewing machine or needle and thread. Lining it with felt means that your phone doesn't slip out too easily.
Here's to keeping your phone safe and cozy and also recycling while you craft!
I finished this deer cushion cover this afternoon from the recycled woollen blanket I bought a while back - and I am so loving the deer!!
Thank you so much to everyone who gave advice re easy zip/opening options for my cushions. I took your advice and tried the envelope opening using the blanket binding that was already there and found it such a simple and great way to do a cushion cover.
This is the youtube clip that I watched before I got going - make especially for any novice seamstresses out there like me!
Watch out thrift stores - the blanket lurker is about...

I am loving recycling woollen blankets into retro cushions. Here are my latest two - another Space Invader Cushion and a Duck Cushion.
I'm using felt at the moment for my images, but I'm not sure how hard wearing it will be. Anyone else have any suggestions?
I also haven't faced my fear of zips, so these cushions are hand sewn closed. I'd love to make these to give away as gifts or sell, but first must face my zipper fear! Watch this space (aka - help Mum!!).
There is something special about taking an unused, unloved or discarded item and recycling it into something fresh and new.
