There is a misconception about this bike that people confuse that it is one bike. Actually it is a name of the series of four-stroke V4 Prototype Motorcycles developed by Ducati to compete in the MotoGP World Championship. It is interesting to note that Ducati had abandoned the Grand Prix racing in the 1970s and the GP3 was the series where it re-entered the racing arena. The fuel capacity of the bike was 211.
The GP4 version came with minor modifications in the GP3 versions but its 989 cc engine had the power to give the driver an astonishing speed of 215.9 mph. The most famous series is probably the 2009 one which had a carbon fiber chassis that was widely appreciated. The GP9 reached a speed of 348 km/h in the fifth round of the MotoGP championship at Mugello. Nowadays we see the GP11 version which was raced by Valentino Rossi.
