Yamaha DT1 was manufactured by Yamaha Motor Company and the bike was also called as the Yamaha Trail 250. It was in production from 1968 to 1971. The DT-1 was introduced to capture a new market because the bike was essentially manufactured for off-road riding. It was light weight and slim in proportion and had enough ground clearance and block-pattern tires for tackling rough terrain. It had a 250c single-cylinder engine with 5-port and it was modeled on motocross design with front suspension from similar to Ceriani. The engine was able to produce 18.2hp and was mated with a 5-spleed manual gearbox. Suspension was Telescopic in the front and swing arm in the rear and was operated with drum brakes. the bike weight about 123kg and was offering a fuel economy of 94mpg US driving at an average of 40kmph and had the storage capacity of 9.5 L or 2.5 US gallon.
