All of the colorwork here was done using 2 strands of 3-ply yarn, which was a great way to blend the colors - sort of painterly. The main color is 1 strand of 5-ply (Brigadoon blackish). I used a different technique than the usual intarsia for the border and ginkgo leaves. By shaping them with increases in one color balanced by decreases in the other, they get a clean cut edge - like an inlay. |
