Treasures found ~

I have picked up a few treasures here and there in the past few weeks and thoroughly enjoyed  each
and every  moment of the *treasure hunt*.  Sometimes it takes a long time to find something
that speaks to my heart, but when it does I know it instantly.

Aren't these the greatest books ever?? I love them!!

I found several gorgeous pieces of lace and three of them had vintage rhinestones already attached.
I have never seen that before, but I love it! I also found spools for 30 cents each and picked out a
few. I may have to get some more...:)

I fell in love with this SILK ribbon instanty. It is so soft and the perfect color .

I love all the pieces together.

I couldn't go home without this Italian postcard. Isn't it sweet?

I was in pure heaven when I found this chair at the Goodwill this past week! I was in line to
pay for a couple items, glanced beside me and there was this chair!!! I knocked a few people
over
trying to get at it  grabbed it right away! Truthfully, no one was even giving it a second
glance and am I ever glad! It now resides in my bedroom. Perfection I say...:)

What have you found lately ?

Hillsdale College Rummage Sale

I took my *mum* along with me to the Hillsdale College Rummage Sale yesterday and we had a splendid time and found several goodies that I thought I would share with you. I posted about this sale last year and would have totally missed it this year had my mother not asked about it. It started at 9 am and we got there about 8:20 am and stood in line until they opened the doors PROMPTLY at 9 am. The line snaked way back around the buildings as it does every year. It is fun just to go and see all the people if nothing else. lol. At 1 pm everything is at least 1/2 off if not more so we go right away and take a load or two to the car, then off for lunch and then we come back for the 1/2 off prices. Fun times!!  {I picked up these keys when they were 1/2 off for 2.00}

I purchased all the s and p when they were 1/2 off . 1.00 for a single one and 2.00 for the pair. The bird was 25 cents, the lavender sachet 30 cents( it is new and smells so yummy), planter 60 cents, pitcher 1.00 and the gorgeous runner they are laying on was 25 cents and not one thing wrong with it.

Found these napkin rings when we were there for the 1/2 off too. 50 cents for all four..

I just think this 25 cent runner is gorgeous.

A beautiful white , ruffled bedskirt for $3.00.

Not the greatest photo, but a pretty scarf that I paid a whopping 50 cents for.

I love the plaques by this maker and have some of the larger ones. I found this one for 50 cents. I also picked up two of the perfect square vintage linens this plaque is laying on for 1.00.

A bag of snowflake ornies for 50 cents. I figured I could do something crafty with them...maybe?? :)

I am sure you have seen this saying before. Brand new linen . Picked it up for a sale I am going to have...someday!

A ruffled skirt for 25 cents that I just couldn't pass up...again thinking something crafty.

an old music book for 10 cents

I have all the previous books in this series so was thrilled to find this one and just like new.  I know I purchased other items, but these were what I could put my hands on at the moment. I also purchased five panels of curtains from Pottery Barn for $4.00 and love them.  Somehow the doiles and lace coasters that I picked up didn't get in the post either. All in all it was a fun day out for *mum* and me.

Playing hide and seek

Do you ever feel like you are playing *hide and seek* when you are out and about looking for treasures?
I sure do! Somedays they are few and far between and other days they seem to be abundant. There are days when I want to stand in the middle of a antique mall and yell, "come out , come out wherever you are". lol.

I found a whole pile of these berry boxes at the Route 127 garage sales for 25 cents. Someone has painted several of them white , but it is glossy white. I may repaint them in a flat color. I found the tiny berry boxes in front of the other stacks at an antique store awhile ago. I L.O.V.E. the small sizes of these.

Loving this marked Nelson McCoy that I just picked up this past week for 2.99!  You know me. I love anything in creams and whites. The color was right and the price so I made it mine quickly.

I found this creamer and sugar at the Goodwill. The sugar is Grindley and the creamer is not marked, but again...right color and right price.

These two jars from France were found on the Route 127 garage sales a few weeks ago as well. I paid $1.00 for one and I think $1.50 for the other. I decided to use one for sugar and added the pretty silver spoon. I have a spoon somewhere that is bent so I could hang it over the wire bail, but do you think I can find it?? Noooooo...!

I have had quite a busy week so far. Yesterday I weeded a very large part of my flower beds. I couldn't just pull the weeds. It was one of those *get the shovel out and turn over the soil to get every weed out* kind of days. I also planted two invincible hydrangeas. {that was really the reason I started weeding in the first place} The tiny little pink flower you see in my photos is what they will look like. I can't wait till next year to see how they produce.  The plants were regular 24.88 each and on sale for $5.00! After weeding yesterday, moving some hollyhocks and digging out other plants, I   think I need a couple more of them!

Then when hubby got home I helped him some more on the soffit and fascia and weeded the front flower garden while I was out there. I have decided that I need a full time gardener. This is wearing me out!! :)

I hope you enjoyed my white finds today as I join Kathleen over at Faded Charm once again for our favorite day of the week...White Wednesday.  Here is to all of you  when you are seeking those wonderful goodies that they don't stay in hiding!

My Real Treasures

My real treasures are my grandchildren...I know that I have shared with you before that I watch our precious little granddaughter one day a week and she is just a delight. She is talking more all the time now and some of the words include: ihsha (for my other granddaughter Allysha), Kee (for candy or Keira(granddaughter number 3), sharrrr (shower), I wuv you, MOM, paw paw and on and on. Her little baby voice just melts my heart. She was playing on my tiny ladder in this picture, but no worries, her grandma and her grandpa were right behind her so she wouldn't fall. Aren't grandchildren just the best? We get to love them, spoil them and send them back home to mom and dad. Blessings to you and yours today!

WONDERFUL Vintage Treasures Book

I absolutely adore this book! I imagine a lot of you out there in blog land already have it, but I wanted to share it for the few who might not. I return to this beautiful book over and over and it is one of my very favorites. It has so many gorgeous ideas in it to transform flea market finds and there are a couple ideas that I want to try soon.

I am watching my little 1 and 1/2 year old granddaughter again today and she is such pure , innocent joy and I love her to pieces!!

Enjoy and blessings ~
