Family times are always fun!

I LOVE it when the granddaughters come over and I get to snap a few photos.
Some don't turn out too great because those girls are FAST movers, but I managed
to get a few cute shots this time.

Ainsley loves her kitty Maeve. We took Maeve and Merida {sister cats} in when
their family moved away for a year, but they are back now and they love to visit
Maeve. {sadly Merida has passed on}

Here kitty...

Ainsley loving on Maeve and she is taking it all in.

This is Merida's grave. You can't see it in this photo, but the girls colored
rocks to lay beside the stone. They miss her, but thankfully they still have Maeve.

A fun stop at Steak and Shake one weekend. Annika appears to be deep in thought.
LOVE those freckles!

This photo and the rest were taken with my cell phone so they aren't too great quality,
but I wanted to include them.

Ainsley always has a smile!

This is right before we went Putt-putt golfing. I was trying to get the girls to
stand still for a photo and they just started acting goofy, running all around
and this is what we ended up with. ha!. Annika's expression cracks me up!

Loving the family times that we thought we going to be few and far between , but their family has
returned and we are loving it.

What is not to love right???

Have a blessed week ahead!

Winter ONEderland party!

12.10.2011 little Ms. Ainsley celebrated her very first birthday and of course we were there to help celebrate. It was her Winter ONEderland party and she had a grand time.

This is the beautiful cake that Ainsley's daddy made and her mommy decorated. Chocolate cake with strawberries between the layers and strawberry frosting. It was soooo good! In face I just ate a huge piece that I brought home. :)

Marshmallows and a little snowman that Ainsley's mommy made. Too cute!!

The birthday girl!

Ainsley was much more interested in playing with the boxes and paper than she was opening her gifts. This box was pretty well smooshed by the time she got done crawling all over it and standing on it. Thankfully it was not breakable. :)

Annika got Ainsley a cute little ornament for her birthday.  I think she had just as much fun as Ainsley did and it was a beautiful party for our precious little granddaughter.

THEN...
Friday evening my older sister was blessed with her first grandchild...a little boy named Greyson Matthew. She was a nervous wreck living in PA and her daughter giving birth in Alabama. We stayed in touch via facebook and I didn’t go to bed until about 1 am Saturday. I was sooooo tired. At one point she put on facebook, “PLEASE pray for Megan...Greyson is being stubborn”...the next post was “they are prepping Megan for a C-section”. She did end up having a C-section, but mommy and baby are doing just fine and my sister is heading for Alabama tomorrow.

He just missed being born the 10th. {He would have been born the 10th if Alabama was not a hour behind us} Had that happened we would have FOUR family members with birthdays on the 10th , but it was not to be. My sister , Ainsley and my niece LaShawn all celebrated birthdays yesterday and it was a grand day for all!

" I had the most wonderful day ever paw paw"...

...said Annika to my hubby when he walked in the door from work. She had spent the day with me and I will agree that we had a wonderful day!

After I picked her up and we got back to our house we went outside and "played" in the beautiful fall leaves. Err...rather she played and I took photos. lol. She was "decorating" around the yard with the leaves. Here she is trying to stick leaves in holes that she found in the tree.

SUCCESS...little stinker. They were still intact on this tree yesterday and she was here Wednesday.  I just love to watch her play till her hearts content.

She asked me what this hook was doing on the tree. It was still there from our hanging tomato plant last year so we hung a pumpkin. :)
She found this *nest* of sorts in the house on the back porch and thought she should take it outside too.

She was being silly here. She asked me to take a picture of it on her head. :)
Pretty hair for a fun day. At one point we hopped in the car and went to the pumpkin patch up the road a mile or so and she had fun helping pick out more little pumpkins.
I didn't think I would get her into the house too easily for lunch, but I told her we could take our food outside and we did. She really didn't eat much as she was still putting pumpkins here and there around the front yard and still decorating with leaves.
When we came inside to fix lunch she found a bag of glittery snowflakes on the stairway and she wanted to *decorate* the kitchen. At first I said, "We don't want to put those up yet because it isn't Christmas time, but then I thought what in the world would it hurt so I told her she could go ahead. Her little face lit right up. I thought she was going to put them all on the kitchen door, but she decorated the kitchen and back porch. Most of them are still up too. I don't have the heart to take them down! :)  I have snowflakes on my washer, dryer, back door, kitchen door, stove, cupboards etc. She never stopped until she was all done and THEN we went outside for lunch. I was not surprised when grandpa got home from work and she met him at the door and said, "I had the most wonderful day ever paw paw". LOVE IT!!
A tree in our yard...these got in the wrong order again. Oh well.
Standing in my yard looking out towards the woods.
Annika and I found Godzillas leaf!! We found two of these huge leaves and couldn't believe how big they were. The leaf beside it is a regular size maple leaf.
I had to share about my little sweetie today.  I just love to watch her play and have a fun day. Isn't that what grandparenting is all about?? :)

Bribery works...sometimes! :)

Oh my sweet gd Annika! She is four  and 1/2 years old now going on 16. Oh how fast they do grow.  This particular day I was watching Annika and her baby sister Ainsley and I wanted to get some good pictures...however,  little Ms Annika wanted nothing to do with picture taking. So guess what I did...yep I will confess...I bribed her!! Shhhh don't tell anyone...hee hee.  It was a few weeks ago and I don't even remember what I bribed her with. LOL. {I think it was a treat of ice cream after lunch}

What a silly girl...but the photo is still so cute. This little gal has a lot of spunk.

I guess that she decided it was time to growl like a lion.

This one is better...she is finally warming up...I think.

Oh oops...maybe not.:)

But wait...here it is! The photo I had been waiting for at last! Love this little gal to pieces and I cherish the rare moments that I get to spend with her. She is a treasure.

Happy White Wednesday! Be sure and visit Kathleen again for more beautiful posts.

This is a gloomy week here in Michigan. It has been rainy all week so far. I told hubby tonight that we are right on track because the Hillsdale County Fair is this week and it always is cold and rainy! Every year! I can't remember when it wasn't that way during fair week. We do not go anymore ...too cold and too old. :)

Two sweet little faces

A granddaughter is a gift from above ...
one to cherish and to love.
Author Unknown

Are these two of the sweetest little faces ever or what?
My daughter-in-law took these picture and I love them!

I don't think Annika could look more happy.
Such a beautiful smile on her face! She is doing
quite well adjusting to having a baby sister in the
family and she always wants to help.

Praying this Sunday that all of you have
sweet family memories to carry you through
the week to come.
Blessings~
