The Gardens Are Coming Alive!

It is so exciting to see all my pretty flowers finally peeking above the ground!

I love my Grape Hyacinths and the cement plaque is a keeper.

Hostas are also making their appearance.

The Columbines are unfurling their leaves.

A different kind of hosta...I have several kinds.

A rustic, scrolly bench keeps a watchful eye over all.

My Sweet Woodruff and Snow on the Mountain. I LOVE the Sweet Woodruff
when it flowers. It smells heavenly!

My chives are up far enough to use already. You will have these forever if you plant
them. They jump around and shoot their starts deep in the ground here there and
everywhere.

I am a lazy gardener as you can see in the photos. I haven't even cleaned all the leaves
up from last fall, but it is what is is.

It is all beautiful in my eyes!

Happy Spring/May!!

Blessings~

The landscape of summer

I suppose technically summer doesn't arrive until June 20, but it sure looks like summer
around these parts. I love to visit the greenhouses at the very first chance I get and I
know for a lot of us it was earlier this year than ever. I planted several things in clay
pots this year and I love the look.

My chives always put on a good show and I enjoy it every year.

This is the path leading up to our back door. I wish I had some before photos because this area was
nothing but rocky soil when we moved in over 30 years ago. I wonder if I have any photos lurking
around. I will have to go on a hunt. :)

My mother gave me this purple flowered plant for Mothers Day. It might be called
*million bells* , but I don't remember for sure. I added it to this pail along with some
white allysum.

I have shown you my front porch before, but here we go again.  I was tossing around the idea of
painting the floor white  , but I just don't think it will look right ...do you? I would love to replace
the screen door with an old wooden chippy white door that I have in the potting shed, but I
haven't even mentioned it to hubby yet...don't think he will quite understand. LOL

Geraniums and vinca hanging out together.

I LOVE ferns on my porch in the summer!! I may just have to get a couple more next time
I get to the greenhouse.

I found this old crate in my potting shed and decided to bring it out. I wanted to add
some asparagus fern to it as well, but I haven't gotten that far yet.

We made the mistake years ago of putting two brackets for hanging baskets on our posts.
We didn't realize until later that the person walking up the step would whack their head on
the basket so right now I have wind chimes hanging on it. I am thinking about putting
it on the other side of the post, but then I think it would hide my fern...oh my what is
a girl to do?? hee hee

Happy Tuesday and enjoy your day!!

My garden

The weather is beautiful today in Michigan so I ventured outside to do some weeding in my
little garden. I found this sign at an antique mall when we visited our daughter this past
weekend. While I was carrying it around a lady told me two different times that she
really liked it. :)

I asked for a new fence for "Mothers day" from my hubby. This one is getting rotten
and falling apart. It has been here for several years and it is time to go.
Time will tell if he actually has time to make one anytime soon. :)

A favorite birdhouse and cement face.
{Don't look too close as I noticed the garage needs washed and parts of it also
need painted}

I love this piece in my garden, but I kinda had a *dumb* moment and left it out all winter.
Guess what happened? Yep, part of it broke off. You can't see it since the flowers
cover it up, but I was bummed.

My chives are about ready to bloom. I really need to put them in pots to contain them
a little better.  I love to use them in salads, potatoes, egg salad sandwiches etc.

Our deck also needs replaced. The plan was to do it last year, but we have so many projects in the
works at any given time that it just got pushed to the back burner once again. Hopefully we can
actually accomplish that this summer. I am very slowly getting my goodies out of the potting
shed and adding them to the deck. I don't want to fill it up and then have to take it all back off
when we replace the deck so I am going very slowwwww. :)

I adore Rosemary plants and usually purchase two or three a year.

I never tire of my sweet woodruff especially when it is blooming. I just love the white flowers. This
started with just a few plants several years ago and it has filled in very nicely. I highly recommend it
for a great ground cover.

My fairy house fell over a few weeks ago in very heavy winds that came through our area and it
now needs some help. Several of the window panes fell out, but they are all intact so we just
need to put them back in. Part of the decoration on the front broke and it needs repainted white
again.  I see we need to do some weed spraying too...the fun just never ends when spring
rolls around. :)

Hoping you are having a wonderful day today whatever the weather is where you
are at. I think it is even supposed to be warmer  here tomorrow...:)
